The following post is from the Deal Seeking Mom Project Administrator, Mandi Ehman:
Two weeks ago, I told you how I was using the Palm Pre Plus to get organized.
When I first started reviewing the Palm Pre Plus, I wasn’t sure I would keep it once the review was done since there is an additional monthly fee compared to a regular cell phone. However, so many of the features — browsing the internet, accessing my Google contacts & calendars and scheduling our DVR to record a show even when we’re not home — have made everyday tasks more convenient, and while it’s certainly not a necessity, it’s a splurge that we think is worth the cost.
I’ve found myself using these features the most:
:: Camera. I’ve taken a ton of pictures with my phone, and I think my mom appreciates the chance to see more everyday moments with our baby girl — cuddling with momma while I work, her first time in the exersaucer, her first taste of banana, and so on. And the best part is most of these pictures are great quality, so I don’t feel guilty about not pulling out my nicer camera!
:: Internet browsing. Even though we live in the boonies and don’t get a strong enough cell signal to browse the internet at home, my husband has been enabling the WiFi feature to be able to keep tabs on the NFL Scouting Combine and the start of free agency.
:: Calendars & schedules. Last week we unveiled the Deal Seeking Mom calendar to help you keep track of when deals and roundups are posted. I’ve added these calendars to the personal and business calendars I already have synced with my phone so that I can quickly access my entire schedule wherever I am.
:: Music. I mentioned on Twitter that I’ve never had an MP3 before, and it’s true. Two of my girls have MP3 players and my husband has one, but I’ve never had one or even used theirs. However, I do love music, and I always have a music station playing on the TV or my computer. But with the Pandora app, I’m able to listen to the music I want to listen to right from my phone. And unlike an MP3player, I don’t even need speakers!

I love that you can multitask (more than one app at a time) – I think I would appreciate that the most
Kimberly
To get organized, I’d use the calendars like you mentioned. It would also be easy to keep my master lists right on the phone, since it would always be with me – it would eliminate losing or duplicating things!
Marscie
I would love the camera feature to help my mom connect to my newborn!
Jenny
I have been considering taking the plunge for months but the extra costs and fees have scared me away.
Carol
I would love to be able to browse the internet while at the store to comparison shop
Olivia
Kim, I never thought about the shopping lists! That’s a great idea! It would be even better if you could keep coupons organized in it, or if there’s an application where you can use that feature.
Don
I love the camera feature, great for safety too–my friend just had an accident and used the camera to take pics of the scene
JL
Would love to win, technology does so much but I generally can’t keep up because of finances, this would help me to organize and get ahead, thanks for the chance!
Kimberly
To those curious about the “extra fee”, I believe that refers to the fact that you need a data plan in addition to a regular voice plan. I think Verizon has different data plan options. Any “smart phone” would have similar fees, it comes along with it to get the full functionality.

All of the features sound great! I’ve always had the “free” cell phones our provider offered. But now that our kids are 4 & 8 (both have activites) and my husband is traveling more for business, I am REALLY feeling the need to get everything organized in one spot! Plus, if I could access my calendar and e-mail while waiting in carline, I would get so much more done! And it would be great top be able to send my hubby pics of the kids while he’s away.
Bill
That phone looks amazing, I can’t believe it can surf the web and take pics, definitely could use. This is a great product, I think technology is great, and these features could be most useful for us couponers!
Brigitte
I would use it to make my grocery list instead of having to waste paper every week.
Jennifer Fink

I would use the calendar to track appointments, and love to use it for internet on the go

Which feature of the Palm Pre Plus most appeals to you? – The calendar and scheduling definately. I am always trying to find a good way to keep myself organized!
Janell Poulette
I would use the camera a lot!

Which feature of the Palm Pre Plus most appeals to you? I love the great camera!
Brigitte
Hubby needs and wants a new phone and he wants a touch screen. He doesn’t like the little keypad on his existing phone since he wears glasses and the letters are still too small to see. Depending on the plan and extra fee for the data options this would be a good phone for him to keep track of appointments he has scheduled each week and the calendar would be very helpful for scheduling later appointments.
Kari Myers
I love the Pre. I would use the internet and calendar most.
Kristi D
I would use the music feature – I’m always listening to music on my computer, but it would be awesome to have it on my phone (which is always on me)!
Brigitte
Just to clarify, this giveaway is for a $50 Visa gift card not the phone correct?
Allie Z
I love the idea of having synced calendars. This would be helpful with meal planning and home management, to stay organized when not sitting at a laptop.

I would use the music feature – I’m always listening to music on my computer, but it would be awesome to have it on my phone (which is always on me)!

How do you use technology for streamlining and organizing your life?
I use deal sites to plan my menu. I’ve been using mom blogs sites to create a home managment binder. All of these forms are saved on the computer. I love it!

I have a Blackberry now. I wanted it in order to sync my Outlook calendar and my phone. Alas, I have found that I use my phone more for email and Facebook than I do for the calendar. I’d like to see how the Palm Pre’s calendar is laid out. Maybe it would work better for me than what I am currently (not) using!
Rebecca
I would love to have my business and personal calendars right at my fingertips, it would help make life easier.
Heather
Surfing the net for sure.
Brigitte
I would be interested in the music feature as we have MP3 players and I pay 14.99 a month for the service and have to keep paying the fee to keep being able to hear the songs.
