My Pond’s Luminous Finish BB+ Cream Experience

I’m guessing most of you have at least heard of BB creams by now. The BB stands for “beauty balm,” and it’s a sheer facial product that’s designed to replace a number of products you might have in your makeup bag, namely serums, moisturizers, primers, foundations, sunblocks and possibly concealers.

I’ve never been a big fan of foundation, personally. I find it too heavy and feel like I’m wearing a mask when I have it on, so I was eager to try out this new product. Know what I found out? Not all BB creams are equal — bummer. Some were chalky, and some left a sticky finish on my face. Others were just an odd color that didn’t look right with my skin tone.

Finally I received a sample in my monthly Birchbox that did the trick. Unfortunately, I didn’t love the price tag… At $38 per tube, it was just way more than I wanted to spend. I’ll admit that I did purchase it once (and used it sparingly to make it last), but when the time came to purchase a new tube, I found myself putting it off.

It was around this time that Pond’s contacted me and asked if I’d like to try their new Luminous Finish BB+ Cream.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that the product comes in two shade, light and medium. Most of the BB creams I’ve tried in the past came in only one shade and definitely were not a one-size-fits-all shade. I found the medium shade to be a perfect match for my sun-kissed summer skin.

But the real test was giving the product a go on my face. I was surprised to find that I actually prefer the Pond’s Luminous Finish BB+ to the previous pricey BB cream I was using! It goes on more smoothly and evenly, and the coverage is very sheer but buildable to allow for additional coverage in the areas that I need a touch more.

Pond’s also says that this new BB cream will give you a more even skin tone in two weeks. Its proprietary Tone Perfecting Complex visibly fades dark spots. While I can’t speak to that just yet (I’ve been using it for about a week now), I’ll definitely be back to share my experience with you all!
