I’m guessing most of you have at least heard of BB creams by now. The BB stands for “beauty balm,” and it’s a sheer facial product that’s designed to replace a number of products you might have in your makeup bag, namely serums, moisturizers, primers, foundations, sunblocks and possibly concealers.
I’ve never been a big fan of foundation, personally. I find it too heavy and feel like I’m wearing a mask when I have it on, so I was eager to try out this new product. Know what I found out? Not all BB creams are equal — bummer. Some were chalky, and some left a sticky finish on my face. Others were just an odd color that didn’t look right with my skin tone.
Finally I received a sample in my monthly Birchbox that did the trick. Unfortunately, I didn’t love the price tag… At $38 per tube, it was just way more than I wanted to spend. I’ll admit that I did purchase it once (and used it sparingly to make it last), but when the time came to purchase a new tube, I found myself putting it off.

Pond’s also says that this new BB cream will give you a more even skin tone in two weeks. Its proprietary Tone Perfecting Complex visibly fades dark spots. While I can’t speak to that just yet (I’ve been using it for about a week now), I’ll definitely be back to share my experience with you all!
