Did you know that kids can catch six to ten colds year-round?
I’ve never kept track, but that sounds about right. I don’t think there was a single week this past winter when at least one of the kids was feeling under the weather.
Vicks would like to provide one very lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader with a little extra comfort for both mom and child. They’ve put together a “Vicks VapoRub Comfort Care” gift basket valued at $450 filled with Vicks VapoRub along with some other favorite items to make children more comfortable. The basket includes a plush Little Giraffe blanket, classic children’s books and lullaby CDs. And don’t think they forgot about Mom, especially with Mother’s Day a few days away! They’re also including a 100% cashmere wrap, some favorite soothing skincare items from L’Occitane and a manicure/pedicure kit.
For child:
- Vicks VapoRub
- Chenille Blanket
- Soothing lullaby music
- Assortment of children’s books: Corduroy, Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Giving Tree, The Little Prince
For mom:
- Nordstrom Cashmere Sweater Knit Wrap
- L’Occitane Shea La Vie Gift Set and Hand Cream
- Sephora Professional Manicure/Pedicure Nail Kit
- Essie Spa Pedicure Mini Kit

To comfort my kids when they are not feeling well, we have a special blanket (the sick blanket), that the kids love to cuddle with when their not feeling well. In addition, we’ll let the sick person, choose what to watch on TV and we’ll give them their choice of toast, soup, crackers, etc. We’re not big on candy, but our doctor had told us that if the kids don’t feel well and aren’t eating much, to give them a lollipop…needless to say, my kids love this idea.
For myself, if I have a cold, I love using Vicks VaporRub…the VaporRub works wonders!!!
Thanks so much for this wonderful giveaway.

I compulsively wash my hands so we rarely get sick, but when we do there is something to be said about feeling sorry for yourself. I imagine Harry moaning (in When Harry Met Sally) and usually lay around doing the same thing :)

For those really bad colds, we sleep together in the family room. They get special mommy time and I can keep a closer eye on them.

I comfort myself and my family by just laying in bed and letting the cold run it’s course. I try to get plenty of rest.

When we’re sick, we usually run the humidifier 24/7, have lots of snuggle time and sleep, sleep, sleep. This prize sounds fantastic. Hope we win! Thanks.

When my kids are sick (ages 8 mo and 2 1/2 yrs) we LOVE chicken noodle soup, a lot of TLC, laying low, and watching lots of Dora and Diego. It’s what seems to work these days!

When I get sick, I curl up on the couch with my cats and my laptop. I email and facebook my family and friends, pet my kitties, watch shows on the web and, usually, call my mom. Nothing beats talking to mom when you’re sick…even if you’re 33 and she’s in a different time zone.
