I’ve always like writing fun notes, and tucking them into my son’s lunch box as a surprise. I also tried to stick with buying raisins and healthy lunch foods to grab at home, rather than buying chips and stuff all the time.

Jeannie
I always cut up her sandwich with a cookie cutter and make it a different one every day! I have had a break over summer and have missed packing those lunches. Also give her one piece of candy, a fruit and sometimes a silly item, like a tiny eraser of a pig. Love to give her goldfish crackers. AND she always wants a luncheable, but I just have her ‘build’ her own sandwich! CUTE!

Sometimes I put a dollar in their lunch so they can get an extra treat at school. Their favorite lunch treat is the Gogurt yogurt tubes.

To make school lunches healthy and fun we include fresh fruits and vegetable sticks from the farmer’s market and a frozen carton of yogurt. Another fun touch is to include a funny cartoon you’ve clipped from the newspaper as a surprise. A note from home on special paper is also a fun surprise.

I like to find a fun item to pack that they don’t usually get at home.
Amanda
I always pack healthy snacks in my son’s lunch and I try to find creative ways to serve things so it doesn’t get boring. And most days I do include a note, whether it be written on a piece of paper or on his napkin.
