I try to make sure my kids lunches are healthy by including plenty of fresh fruits & veggies. On certain occassions I’ll include a little note .

I always put a party napkin (pirates, bugs, disney, etc) in my kids’ lunches. I’ll pick them up in clearance. The kids love them!

My daughter and I make her lunch together so she learns what is healthy and what is not. I never saw an 8 yr old count out a serving of something based on our lunch making lessons! So proud!

My daughter is a very picky eater, so she doesn’t get many fruits and veggies….that’s why I try to send V8 Fusion as her drink most of the time. I also send a note on occasion. :)

I always let my daughter pick out what she wants for lunch. She gets to choose which sandwich, which fruit and which dessert. This way I know there are healthy things in her lunch that she will actually eat!

I think handwritten notes are essential to making them fun!! As for making them healthy, I love using wraps and the kids love them too. I will roll them tight and cut them up into smaller sections to make them bite size for added fun.

I always pack lots of fruits and veggies, cut up small so they are perfect for small hands. To help Miss Morgan not feel left out I always send one cookie or some other small goodie. That gives her something to look forward to. She usually eats everything.

My daughter is also a toddler, and pretty impressionable. When I’m about to serve her a new healthy item, I look very impressed and say “OOOH!” She looks at it and says “OOOH!” too, then opens wide. Works almost every time! :o)

I make lunches fun by writing a note on the napkin so I can brighten their midday meal. I always include vegetables and / or fruit.

Veggies and whole foods are fun when packaged them in small containers and made into tasty salads. Broccoli with craisins & sunflower seeds, carrot salad or a light cole slaw in a small tub looks cute and appetizing, or some raw veggie sticks with dip.

My daughter helps pick out items for her lunch and gets her lunch bag all ready for the next day. After she goes to bed, I sneak a note into her bag. She is still learning how to read, so it’s always a picture of some sort with a couple of words that she knows.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
