Kroger Deals Week of 8/23/09

August 24, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 11 Comments

Kroger DealsThanks to Andrea at Mommy Snacks for compiling a list of the best deals to be found this week.

Find my faves below, and then check out her site for the complete list. Don’t forget to load your Kroger Plus Card with the latest Cellfire coupons before your shopping trip!

New to couponing? Read up on what all of these abbreviations mean first in my quick reference guide.

The coupon matchups below are based on my local Kroger’s policy of doubling all coupons up to $0.99. You may need to adjust the final price if your store’s policy is different.

When I got home and checked my receipt tape from Kroger, I noticed they had only doubled/tripled 1 of each coupon. In the past they would always double/triple up to 3 of each coupon. Has anyone else noticed this change or has it always supposed to be this way?

I spend about an hour and a half each week going through the store with my coupons. The Checks granola bars wents down with the 10 special plus I had coupons so it came to $.99 a box. I ended up with 2 sets fo the 10 special so I got $10 off my bill. I love those sales!

My husband loves the cinnamon rolls. Can’t beat the 0.99 deal instead of paying over 2.00 each for them. Way to help us save, Kroger!!

One of my favorite ways to save at Kroger is to look through the marked down fresh meat section. The morning is the best time to check out that section. I recently had a $2.00 off coupon for any steak and I just kept checking for a marked down steak and snagged one for a $1. Sometimes it pays to wait.

I guess I should (almost) be ashamed of myself…….. but since Pepsi is one of the sponsors of your gift card giveaway, I can go ahead and post this. :-) My local store doubles up to .60. I found .55/2 Pepsi Max 2 lt coupons in a Coors rebate booklet. So, I’ve stocked up on Pepsi Max for .24/2 liter. Not bad for this area, we never get good soda deals. If you haven’t tried Pepsi Max………… you’re in for a surprise. It’s 0 sugar, 0 carb, but BOY does it have a KICK. I talked with the Pepsi delivery man at another local store and he told me that it has as much caffeine as Mtn. Dew. So, beware. Tastes great, great deal after promo/qs, but be prepared to be wired!

    Hi Barbie,
My Kroger only doubles up to .50.

    PS:
I -almost- always find an error on my check out bill.
When you do, they give you double your money back and the item for free.
One time I was charged for candy (the cashier wanted some candy I guess) which I never buy, once I was double charged for a steak and most recently charged the wrong price for chips.

    Cha-ching!
