Complementing the selection of quality pet food and supplies in Kroger stores, Kroger Personal Finance (KPF) brings together a wide array of quality financial products and services from preferred providers for Kroger customers and their furry family members, including a new “accident only” pet insurance policy for just $9.95/month per pet.
To most pet owners, pets are family too! When pets get sick or injured, most of us are willing to spend almost whatever it takes to get them back on all four feet, but the price of veterinary care does not come cheap. As a matter of fact, according to the American Pet Products Association (APPA) vet bills last year in the U.S. topped $11 billion. For this reason, pet insurance policies are on the rise.
Kroger Pet Insurance coverage starts at just $9.95 for an accident-only plan and includes plans with up to $12,000 worth of annual coverage per pet. Sign up in Kroger’s stores or online!

I save money on treats. My dog doesn’t like most treats, so we purchase very few treats.

My best pet saving strategy is not to have a pet at all! :)
Seriously, I am entering this for my sister-in-law who has an adorable pup!

I have a ten-year old Daschund mix we rescued from a kill shelter. I have read about the Kroger pet insurance, there are brochures by every register. My mother has Alzheimers and the dog keeps her going most days. Bridgette is too old now for pet insurance, most of her conditions are pre-existing, but what I do to save money, is when I buy treats, I buy soft ones and cut them in quarters, so they are smaller and go further and my daughter has a dog so we check prices and buy large size bags if they are cheaper and share the price.

My strategy for saving money on my pets is all about feeding them the best food I can. I have had pets who have had many problems that land them at the vet over and over that were all food related. We buy our food in the large bags so that we get the lower price but we do not compromise on the quality of our food. Our cats are very healthy!

WOW…I could really use this one! I have 16 rescued dogs and nine rescued cats. Our vet probably sees us on a more regular basis than his own family!
Shannon
I use coupons, store loyalty cards, attend free pet parties or events when possible for coupons, samples or treats & make friends with my vet. :-D We try to take really good care of them too as we don’t want them to get sick, if at all possible. They are like our kids.

My cats have to have special food due to health issues. I buy the big bag that is cheaper per lb. It makes my day when there is a coupon available for their brand of food. :)

I use coupons when I can, and I use the same vet I’ve used for 20 years. She’s reasonably priced, and will let you pay in payments for larger bills!
