Win-It Wednesday: Duo Binder and Slice Safety Cutter (10 Winners!)

by Tara Kuczykowski on April 14, 2010 · 852 comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Duo Binder. All opinions are 100% mine.

I recently had the opportunity to test drive a new product called the Duo Binder. What makes this product unique is the fact that it combines the functionality of a 3-ring binder with an expanding file folder, with double elastic closures to keep everything securely in place. Check out the Duo Demo to see it in action.

Of course the first thought that came to my mind when I saw it is that it's perfect for coupons! I'm a "file by insert" kind of couponer (more on this in an upcoming couponing series), so the expandable file is perfect for storing recent inserts by date. My plan is to purchase some baseball card inserts for filing coupons that I purchase for upcoming deals, as well as printable coupons.

Product Specs:
-- 6 tabs/7 sections in the expanding file folder
-- 1" binder
-- 6 graphic design styles to choose from plus black

Even outside of couponing, I can see this being a very useful tool for school-aged children. It's kind of like the modern version of a Trapper Keeper. Surely many of you had one of those in school, LOL?

As I mentioned before, this is a prerelease product. This product is not available in store yet, but Duo Binder is offering a special price online for Deal Seeking Mom readers. Get 50% off your purchase and FREE shipping with the code dealseekingmom0410.

Duo Binder wants to send 10 lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers their very own Duo Binder so you can give it a whirl too. Plus I'm tossing in one of my very favorite coupon cutting tools, the Slice Safety Cutter.

To enter, just share your thoughts on the new Duo Binder. What do you like about it? Is there anything you would add or change?

Ten lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a Duo Binder and a Slice Safety Cutter.

To enter, tell me how you would use the Duo Binder. Is there anything you specifically like or don't like about it?

+++++++++++++++

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

I would either use it for coupons, or to store my sons school work. Without using it for anything just yet, it's hard to say what I would change about it. Maybe pockets for smaller papers?

5 Karla April 14, 2010 at 10:51 pm

I would definitely use the binder for coupons- I like the expandable files!

6 Lynn April 14, 2010 at 10:52 pm

I would use it to organize my coupons. I like that it has dual functions and that it's expandable. I don't think I'd change anything about it. Thanks!

P.S. Yes, I do remember those Trapper Keepers :)

super cool and nifty binder!!

13 Diane April 14, 2010 at 11:04 pm

I would use it for filing my coupon inserts and loose coupons. The only think I would change would be to add a few plastic binder pages in to the 3 ring binder part. Thanks for holding this contest!

I absolutely love the idea....I use a binder now for coupons and to have the file system right there attatched...Genius!

16 Lindsay April 14, 2010 at 11:07 pm

Great options... either use expand-file side with printables or when i get the chance to organize right a spot for plastic pages.... The one thing to change... make it a little more stylish. ;0)

17 Karen April 14, 2010 at 11:09 pm

The Duo Binder looks like what I could use to organize my coupons. I would love to win one.

18 Paula Jolly April 14, 2010 at 11:09 pm

I love this idea - I have a similar file system, but it's missing the binder section! I can't wait to see the 6 different designs!!

19 Paula Jolly April 14, 2010 at 11:11 pm

I forgot to add my suggestion - a zipper pouch to store a sharpie & small pair of scissors would be nice.

What a great organizational tool!! I can think of many uses for this, just in general! I love the idea for coupons, but I could also anticipate using it for my own college classes. I hate trying to keep loose papers nice & neat tucked into the flimsy pocket folders on my 5 subject notebooks, or 3 ring binders.

23 Donna April 14, 2010 at 11:13 pm

I LOVE this idea! I would make it a 2 inch binder, and add the zipper pouch, and make one with a kid design on it. This is a great idea!
I just signed up to follow you on twitter :) I am also going to do the chat deal too :)
Thanks for your site!

It would be great to have this binder. I would use it for my coupons and the part that expands I would use it for the current ads for the stores.

42 Leslie April 14, 2010 at 11:53 pm

I look the idea of a place to store my coupons!!

43 kay April 14, 2010 at 11:53 pm

I would use it for Church. I teach a class with 4-5 year olds, and my regular binder doesn't hold all the loose scraps of paper in, and it's getting pretty beaten up from all the wear and tear. I like that the Duo Binder can hold things in without spilling. The only thing I can guess about changing is the plastic- it looks kind of thin, but I won't know until I feel one.

It would be great if a zipper pouch was added for pen/pencil, small calculator, scissors or slice safety cutter :)
