Last month I had the pleasure of celebrating National Brownie Day at Cheryl & Co.’s corporate headquarters in Westerville, OH. What — you didn’t know there was such a thing as National Brownie Day? Well, truth be told, neither did I (it was December 8th if you’re wondering), but I had a blast hanging out with some of my favorite local bloggers and tasting all of the yummy Cheryl & Co. goodies. We toured the factory, frosted cookies, and I even won an adorable Ohio State Buckeyes cookie jar — the perfect end to a fun day!

    A warm brownie with vanilla ice cream is a favorite.

    I also make what I call a Cherry Torte.

    2 cans of tart cherries with juice
    1 yellow cake mix, dry
    1 stick of butter melted.

    Dump cherries with their juice into a 9 x 13 pan. Arrange cherries so they are in a single layer. Dump dry cake mix on top of cherries and smooth to make an even layer. Drizzle meted butter on top of cake mix. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes until top of cake is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

    My sister has varied this with different flavors of cake mixes and fruit, but the original is my all time favorite.

    My favorite dessert is anything cupcake, the best however are Red Velvet. And Cheryl and Co…it doesn’t get any better!
