Win-It Wednesday: The Couponizer (5 Winners!)

June 16, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

I’m always looking for new and improved ways to organize my coupons, so I was excited when Amy Bergin, creator of The Couponizer, asked if I’d like to test drive one. The first thing I noticed about The Couponizer is that it comes with everything a beginning coupon user needs: spiral-bound coupon booklet with coupon pockets, coupon-sorting pad, shopping list, savings tracker, scissors, and a handy clear plastic pouch to store it all. This is a fantastic way to get comfortable with using coupons and learning what works for you as far as sorting and storing them.

Now I’ve mentioned in the past that I use the file-by-insert method, so you might wonder how a product like this could work for me. As it turns out, it’s actually the perfect supplement to my current method.

I’ve always had a hard time organizing my printable coupons and other loose coupons that I receive in the mail. The Couponizer is great for sorting these coupons that I have a tendency to forget about, and it also has pockets for my store loyalty cards, as well as folders for storing coupons I plan to use in a given shopping trip. There’s also a folder for coupons to use at checkout, so you can move them over when you actually place the item in your cart, and a folder to store expiring coupons so you can make sure they’re used in a given month.

Five lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a Couponizer!

Through 7/31 you can get $1 off any order at The Couponizer. Just enter coupon code SUMMER10 at checkout!

To enter, tell me how you store and keep track of all your coupons. Do you have a binder, a coupon wallet, a bag?

my coupon organizational system is shoddy – I just toss them in my calendar, on my kitchen counter, or in a bin. I used to have a better system, but eventually it became too time consuming to keep up with it. this would be a big help.

Just upgraded a couple months ago from a cardstock-thickness expanding one from Dollar Tree (after taping it together after multiple splits & tears). Just got a sturdier expanding one for under $10 at Office Max – stylish with black & ivory and enough sections to really divvy them up more. I still added some cardstock dividers of my own to split things up even more where I can easily flip to what I need. I must say that last week I purchased multiple copies of the paper for the first time and I fear my organizer won’t keep pace with me for long.

Right now I’m using my son’s train table to hold my coupon mess — he’d be so happy if I won this and could give him his table back! :)

Unfortunately, I only use plain envelopes for my coupons, making it hard to organize them and adding unnecessary time to my shopping trips. The Couponizer would be a godsend for me!

I use an old wipes container with envelopes in it for filing coupons. I probably have about 25 different envelopes with all my different coupon categories (baby, shampoo, dairy, etc), plus I have an envelope for each store where I store specific store coupons, and I also move other coupons into the store envelope when I plan to use them on that shopping trip. I carry my organizer with me to all the stores, and it’s small enough that it’s not too much bother, the only problems are when it gets knocked over, and the envelopes are getting pretty tattered. I also store duplicate inserts in a desk drawer at home, but I clip any that are for products I regularly use.

I store my coupons by month in ziplock baggies, then take out the ones I need before I go shopping and put it with my grocery list.

I keep my coupons in little pocket folders, and those are in a small portable tote. It kind of works, but would love something better.

I currently use envelopes….one for grocery coupons, one for restaurants and one for everything else. Not a very good system. Would LOVE to have one of these couponizers!!!

    I’m a mess in the store…I clip, I file, I shop, I search, I sort, I hunt, I file, I sigh, I pay, I leave, I smile…

My coupons are stored in an index card file. I had to get a bigger one because my other for 3×5 was too small.

I’m using plain old envelopes. I really need this.

I use a 4″ x 6″ index card box with dividers for different categories. I found that small accordian files just didn’t have enough pockets to keep everything organized, and I didn’t like the pre-written categories in traditional coupon organizers.

Hi, I also use the file by insert method. I think this organizer would be wonderful for the coupons you know you will be using for that days or weeks shopping trip!
Thank you for all you do! I can’t tell you how much you have helped our family save!

I read your posts on Facebook!

Great deals and I love checking it out. I’m now trying to use coupons to save money since I have one child that will be going to college, another that is 10, and a 7 month old. I am trying to get organized, but I keep my coupons in a drawer in the kitchen, the glovebox of my car, and in my purse. Most of the time I check out at the store and realize that I had a great coupon, but it wasn’t on me :( Organization is needed in my life, your couponizer looks great!

I’m VERY new to couponing…I bought a small organizer from Hobby Lobby, used a 40% off coupon, so I got it for like 4 bucks! (https://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/organizer-box-bright-floral-211797/) …I then printed off category labels and attached them to the mini folders…It works really great for me!
