Win-It Wednesday: TerraCycle Back-To-School Prize Pack!

August 18, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski 496 Comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

Every year BILLIONS of drink pouches, yogurt containers, candy wrappers and more end up in dumpsters and landfills across America. TerraCycle’s mission is to recycle these items into affordable, eco-friendly products. They’re making “upcycling” trendy with their adorable backpacks, binders, and lunch boxes!

Want to get paid for your trash? Join one of their FREE Brigades and TerraCycle will pay you per piece for sending them your non-recyclable waste materials.

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a TerraCycle Prize Pack that includes the following:

  • Capri Sun lunch box
  • Billboard laptop case
  • Honest Kids 3 ring binder
  • Paper pens
  • (2) Capri Sun pencil cases
  • Capri Sun small tote
  • Doritos backpack
  • Circuit board coasters
  • Circuit board picture frame

To enter, tell me how your family gets environmentally friendly. Do you recycle as much as possible? Have you given up paper towels and instead opted for good old-fashioned cloth?

+++++++++++++++

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

If you are reading this in your email or feed reader, please CLICK HERE to visit the original blog post to enter. Email entries will not be counted.

Methods of entry:

1. Leave a comment. How does your family go green?

2. Join the TerraCycle community on Facebook. Come back and leave a separate comment letting me know you’ve done so!

3. Follow @DealSeekingMom and @TerraCycle on Twitter and tweet the following. Be sure to come back and leave a separate comment with the link to your tweet!

Enter to win a @TerraCycle Back-To-School Prize Pack worth $100 from @DealSeekingMom: https://bit.ly/bo8InM

Prize:
(1) TerraCycle Prize Pack (ARV $100), as described above

We recycle plastics, cans, newspapers, and magazines. We also have a compost pile to help recycle and fertilize our garden.

We recycle and compost — and try to use non-waste items for storage (i.e. containers vs. plastic bags)

The kids and I try to recycle as much as possiable. We are still working on Dad. He is always saying just throw that away today because we are camping or on a picnic or out running around.. I on the other hand carry home soup cans from my lunch at work so I can toss in the recycle bin. It is amazing how much garbage a family can generate and if everyone did their best things would maybe not improve but not continue at such a rapid rate.

I’m from Oregon so I grew up recycling. I recycle everything that I possibly can. When I go to the recycling center I dig through the newspaper bin to find coupon inserts that people throw out.

We crush all of our cans and recycle those, but we take the pop-tops off so we can donate those.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
