Win-It Wednesday: Shelf Reliance Cansolidator Pantry (4 Winners!)

June 2, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

One of the most common questions I get about stockpiling is, “How do you manage your stockpile?” Frankly, this is something I still struggle with. My kitchen pantry is relatively small — certainly not large enough to house a stockpile that will sustain a family of seven. We have additional shelving, as well as an extra refrigerator and deep freezer in the garage, but I’ll admit that it’s difficult at best to keep tabs on everything.

So when Tiffany from Shelf Reliance asked if I’d be interested in trying one of their Cansolidator Pantry shelf units I jumped at the chance. Not only does it save space, but it also automatically rotates your stockpile, ensuring that products are used in the order of expiration. Furthermore, it alleviates the sometimes dangerous practice of stacking cans on top of each other. Have I ever told you about the time my husband dropped a can of peas on my bare pinky toe? Well, let’s just say it was not a pretty sight…

Now I just need to pick up a few more Cansolidator units to finish organizing. Luckily Tiffany has a great deal for us:

This week only, Tiffany is offering Deal Seeking Mom readers an exclusive 52% discount on the Cansolidator Pantry. Enter coupon code Save1 at checkout, which will bring the price per unit down to $21.49!

Four lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a Shelf Reliance Cansolidator Pantry that holds up to 40 cans!

To enter, tell me what is the hardest part about keeping your pantry clean. Do you struggle with stacking cans, or do you have issues with bags and boxes?

The hardest thing for me is the rotation. With so many cans, I make a mess trying to properly rotate them.

The hardest part is not knowing what I have and what I need. I always end buying something I thought I didn’t have and already had 2 on the shelf.

Living at the coast, about half of the year we have to have stuff, including food, ready to evacuate in case of severe weather. My cabinets always seem messy because I find so many deals.

The hardest thing for me about keeping a pantry organized is….no pantry. We pretty much have a single cabinet that gets used to store our canned goods. Now, if we could convert our hot water heater to a tankless version, and maybe an over/under washer/dryer unit, we could probably get a pantry into the laundry room off the kitchen…but right now that’s not possible.

My pantry stays pretty well “clean” it’s those sneaky cans that get behind a non-like item that I can’t find when I need it, that’s the frusteration!!

The hardest part of keeping the pantry clean is stockpiling. When I get a new item stockpiled we have to rearrange everything.

Small pantry and no extra fridge or any place to put things.
This makes it difficult to keep it organized.
I hate when I get a great deal on something and then it expires before I use it!

I struggle with the fact I have NO pantry. My stockpile is stored in various places around my house. This would definitely help with storage. Thanks!

The hardest part of keeping my pantry clean is definitely the bags. My son has food intolerance issues, so we buy a lot of bagged goods, and those just don’t fit anywhere well. We also have a LOT of canned goods that we (regrettably) pile on our rotating shelves. Every time I rotate them, things fall. Oh, well. I try!

My hardest problem is keeping UP with what I have! Do you have a list of everything you have on your shelves? I’d much rather shop my stockpile than the store!

My kitchen is very very small. We’re talking room for one person to stand and that’s it. All the shelving is set very high, beyond my reach almost. In fact I can only utilize the bottom two shelves. Which is why I set up a stackable floor shelf unit right outside the kitchen doorway for non-perishables. And believe me, it’s well within reach to grab that can of corn or box of pasta.
