    we have a splash park by my husband’s work, and i take the kids and meet him there for lunch sometimes. really breaks up the long work week for all of us!

    My family’s favorite spot is on the Potomac River. When we visit the grandparents, we have made a ritual of getting Popeye’s fried chicken and eating it by the river. There is about 12 of us that go down and spend a few hours. Every year we take a new family picture. Nice memories!

    I go to Forsythe park which is only a few blocks away. It’s too hot out now for picnics but in another month or so, it will be lovely.

    We live close to Mammoth Cave National Park so we have had lots of picnics in the Park. And I’m a RSS subscriber.

    We love to go to Maymont. We walk around get our son all tired out and then sit down in the shade for some good food.

    On a little island that peaks out of the water in the middle of Lake Sakakawea, you can only get there by boat and we have a blast picnicing and jet skiing!
