Win-It Wednesday: Piggy Paint Natural as Mud Nail Polish (2 Winners!)

February 3, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Be sure to enter the other gift guide giveaways all day long. There’s something for everyone!

Lovebug Hug Piggy Paint Gift PackPiggy Paint Lovebug Hug Set
My two little princesses adore their Piggy Paint nail polish. They’ve always wanted to have “pink toes” like mommy, but I’ve been a little concerned about using regular nail polish on them, especially on their fingers knowing they bite them sometimes. Knowing that Piggy Paint is non-toxic makes me feel good, and they have a fabulous array of colors. My girls have already requested that I buy a few more so they can now have “rainbow toes!”

More About Piggy Paint
Melanie Hurley founded Piggy Paint as an alternative to traditional flammable nail polishes. She wanted to create a nail polish that she could feel good about even when her daughters inevitably stuck their fingers in their mouths, and this “natural as mud” polish fit the bill.

I love taking my daughter out to the zoo and the aquarium, we have family memberships at both so we can go often and only stay while she’s up for it without worrying about getting our money’s worth. She loves giraffes and fish.

We do many things, but my daughter loves the following the most:
As silly as it sounds…..my 13 year old (very mature for her age )loves it when I skip with her while going from our car into a store! We both end up giggling at the reactions from others, and it seems to lighten any bad mood either of us may have previously been in.

We’re readers and game players in our house. Our children are learning to love board games as much as my husband and I do so we love to play games together–Uno, Skip-Bo, Sorry, Trouble, Dominoes, Checkers, Go Fish. We also read together every day and I have so many fond memories of my children “reading” books to themselves as wee little ones. Now that two of them are actually reading, it makes my heart smile to remember those days when they were teeny.

We bake together and craft together. I hope we continue these and play family game nights when they get older…I remember doing all this with my parents & siblings growing up!

We play music together- each of us uses different instruments and I turn up the CD player really loud. We “rock out” as my two year old drummer/guitarist calls it and my 14 month old dances and plays the tambourine.

How do you make memories with your children? I try once a month to take each separately my 2 daughters out to a dinner and just use that time to chat and regroup with them, now as teens this is very important to keep myself in their active worlds. What’s your favorite thing to do together, we love to go to the movies together.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
