Win-It Wednesday: Little Debbie Prize Pack (10 Winners!)

March 30, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

If you’re like me, you noticed a few weeks ago that when the St. Patrick’s Day green was put away, the first thing to hit the stores was Little Debbie spring-themed snacks on the end caps of the aisles and at the registers. You can almost tell the season just by watching the Little Debbie selection at the store, something that hasn’t changed since I was a child.

Right now on Little Debbie’s Facebook page, you can enter to win their Million Smile Mission for a chance to win the grand prize of a 16′ Airstream Sport Trailer or one of several other prizes, including Kodak Slice Cameras, Kodak ESP 7250 Printers, digital picture frames, Little Debbie Prize Packs and more!

Ten lucky Deal Seeking Mom winners will each receive a Little Debbie prize pack that includes:

  • 2 boxes of Cloud Cakes
  • 2 boxes of Spring Snacks

To enter, tell me one memory involving snack cakes from when you were a kid or as an adult if you didn’t have them as a child. Did your mom pack them in your lunch box? Were they a special treat reserved for road trips? Did you eat your first snack cake in college when you were on your own?

+++++++++++++++

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

Ever since I was a young child in school my mother use to pack Little Debbie treats for me to enjoy for snacks at school. All of the other kids tried to get me to give them my snacks but I never would give up my Little Debbie snacks for anything their mom’s sent. Little Debbie’s are still one of my favorites after all these years.

I remember my son’s 19th birthday. It was march 19,2003 I had just recieved an address that I could send him care packages overseas that morning. It was also the cut off for the time frame Pres. Bush had given before sending troops into Iraq. I was standing in walmart trying to figure out how to send hime a piece of home and little debbie swiss rollls were the first things I put into that and every other box I sent him while he was deployed over there. Those were “special treats” for the kids when they were little. so it made us both feel good. also the boys in his unit were happy too

How I Eat A Little Debbie Swiss Cake Roll
    1. Take the tiniest of bites off each end of the S.C.R. so that only the chocolate disappears.
    2. Unroll as much of the outer layer of chocolate as possible without disturbing the cake and icing. Eat first.
    3. Gently, very gently, unroll the first layer of chocolate cake. Eat second, in stages, as to savor each bite.
    4. Using your tongue, relieve the remaining cake and chocolate of its icing.
5, Take off 2 thick “corners” of chocolate on the bottom of cake. Eat immediately.
    6. Eat remaining cake, chocolate, and icing together. Make sure to take small bites to cause S.C.R. to last as long as possible.
    7. Be sad that S.C.R. is gone.,….

Our old house had a closet under the steps. I would go food shopping and my children always loved the nutter peanut bars, I would buy at least 6 boxes of them, only to find all 6 boxes gone with in 3 days. So after doing this sometime, i would have to take one box to hide for myself,or i would never get one. Thats how much our family loves, Little Debbie.

My favorite memories of my dad are sharing the nutty bars with him. After work he would take a pack and give me one of the chocolate covered peanut butter cookies and a glass of cold milk. We would sit in happy silence and enjoy the taste and each others company.

My mom never bought Little Debbie snacks :( Every once in a while a friend would bring an extra one in her lunch box for me, usually a Swiss cake roll. I would take my time eating it and unrolling it, and it was as close to heaven as I could get being in elementary school on lunch :)

There is not one week of the year that goes by that I don’t have to buy a box or two Swiss Roll cakes for my husband and 6 year old daughter.Everyday for breakfast my husband has to have one, and my daughter will snack on them in the evening or in her school lunch. I know they are very good, but I have never seen two people eat so many cakes. Thanks for making two of my favorite people in the world so happy.

I have to say that one of my Little Debbie memories is just the few times that we got them. My grandmother was an awesome cook and we didn’t have much money so we RARELY got store bought sweets. The times that we did, they were gone pretty quickly!
