Win-It Wednesday: Joovy Nook Highchair!

June 9, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

If you’re in the market for a new high chair, the Joovy Nook should definitely be an option you look into. This thing is fantastic! My only regret is not finding it sooner so that I could have used it with more of my kids.

Some of my favorite features:

  • Folds up ultra compact — this is so important when you have a lot of baby gear and not a lot of room!
  • Five-point harness — my oldest boy was quite the Houdini, and I’m sure this feature would have kept him put. As it is, it keeps my two-year-old securely in place, and the padded straps look quite comfortable.
  • Swing-open tray — juggling a baby and a plate of food, all while trying to keep the dog from snatching a taste, is tough. The swing-open tray makes it easy to open with one hand, leaving your other hand free for wrangling!
  • Easy to clean — the leatherette version wipes clean easily, and the bright, cheery fabric covers can be tossed right in the washing machine!

Best of all the Joovy Nook just looks cool! I’m a sucker for contemporary design, and this is eye-catching, yet sturdy. Choose from black or white leatherette or orange or green fabric.

To be honest, I have been soliciting recommendations from friends and family. We are expecting our first and with so many choices out there – it’s crazy! Does the baby really need to listen to music from the highchair when eating? I want something that is compact, practical and functional.

I’m a fan of DSM already, but I joined the Joovy network and subscribed to the email list as well.

As for what I look for in a high chair, something that looks as neat (cool and trendy is always fun) as it is practical (being easy to clean, easy to maneuver baby in and out, and ability to last as long as possible).

I would like something that is easy to clean. I currently have the wooden Eddie Bauer high chair, which looks great in my house, but could be easier to clean. The cushion is not removable from the chair, so I can’t just throw it in the washer. Also, the cushion does not go up high enough, so if my little one decides to throw a fit he bonks his head on the wood. I would love to have a better option for the rest of his time in a high chair and for future little ones!

This highchair is just what I am looking for. We do not have a lot of room, so this would be a great solution. I also love the fact that it has a swinging tray.

Easy to clean tray and frabic is a must. Hardness as well. I’m starting to see my little girl trying to wiggle her way out of the chair.

I love that it folds up. My current highchair takes up too much room in my small dining room.

Something to keep the little tikes fastened in. This one is more fashionable than the wooden one I use for my grandbabies.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
