Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

June is just about over now, but did you know that it was National Safe Driving Month? Motorola hit the road this month to educate consumers about driving safely with their Get Smarter safe driving campaign.
As part of this effort, Motorola has developed the H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device. This nifty little piece of technology looks like a typical Bluetooth headset, with the added capability of reading text messages to the consumer in real time. You can even set up an autoresponse that will let the original sender know that you will respond to their message as soon as you reach your destination!
Motorola sent me an H17txt with Motospeak unit to test drive this feature. Unfortunately, the Motospeak technology is only compatible with Android and RIM devices at this time, so I was unable to take advantage of it with my iPhone. However, you can still use it as a Bluetooth headset, and this has quickly become a lifesaver for me. I’m hoping that the Motospeak application will be compatible soon, because I’d love to have that feature.
One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win an H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device!

Yes, I’ve been tempted to text and drive. When someone texts me and says “where are you?” or “when will you be here?” it seems like a quick response like “on the highway” or “9:00” would be simple. But, in reality I know it is unsafe to text at all. I do occasionally text while at a stoplight, but I try to avoid that, too. I would love this device!

I don’t text at all, so it’s not an issue for me.

I am very tempted but I try to leave my phone on silent while in the car so I cant hear it and be tempted. I feel uneasy doing so tho when I have 3 small children and am always worried that someone may be calling me about them.

To be able to text and say Im stuck in traffic, running late, stopping by the grocery store, got pulled over(hope not), etc would be very easy to do while driving but the risk is greater than the reward. We all must remember that in order to win
Dan
My vice is emailing & driving… not so much texting. I miss my old pager that had canned responses like “be there soon” and “traffic delay”.
