Win-It Wednesday: H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device

June 30, 2010 by Deal Seeking Mom 366 Comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

H17txt with Motospeak™

June is just about over now, but did you know that it was National Safe Driving Month? Motorola hit the road this month to educate consumers about driving safely with their Get Smarter safe driving campaign.

As part of this effort, Motorola has developed the H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device. This nifty little piece of technology looks like a typical Bluetooth headset, with the added capability of reading text messages to the consumer in real time. You can even set up an autoresponse that will let the original sender know that you will respond to their message as soon as you reach your destination!

Motorola sent me an H17txt with Motospeak unit to test drive this feature. Unfortunately, the Motospeak technology is only compatible with Android and RIM devices at this time, so I was unable to take advantage of it with my iPhone. However, you can still use it as a Bluetooth headset, and this has quickly become a lifesaver for me. I’m hoping that the Motospeak application will be compatible soon, because I’d love to have that feature.

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win an H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device!

To enter, answer tell me whether you’ve ever been tempted to text and drive. Shh, we won’t tell…

I have never tried to text and drive but I’ve read a text or two. My problem is when my phone rings I have trouble finding it as I’m driving. I’ve been wanting a headset. I think everyone should own one.

Yes I’ve been tempted… but it’s really hard to do with the keyboard phone I have, so I really can’t. Thank goodness.

I’m not a very good texter so I would never try to do this and drive. I like my car too much to wreck it for a text!!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
