Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

June is just about over now, but did you know that it was National Safe Driving Month? Motorola hit the road this month to educate consumers about driving safely with their Get Smarter safe driving campaign.
As part of this effort, Motorola has developed the H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device. This nifty little piece of technology looks like a typical Bluetooth headset, with the added capability of reading text messages to the consumer in real time. You can even set up an autoresponse that will let the original sender know that you will respond to their message as soon as you reach your destination!
Motorola sent me an H17txt with Motospeak unit to test drive this feature. Unfortunately, the Motospeak technology is only compatible with Android and RIM devices at this time, so I was unable to take advantage of it with my iPhone. However, you can still use it as a Bluetooth headset, and this has quickly become a lifesaver for me. I’m hoping that the Motospeak application will be compatible soon, because I’d love to have that feature.
One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win an H17txt with Motospeak Hands-Free Device!

I’ve been tempted to text and drive, but my husband’s a cop so it’s a big NO NO and as a PICU nurse it’s just not a good idea.
Allison
I’ve probably been tempted once or twice, but not recently. :)

Nope, not much of a text user, although I am considering a new phone with a friendlier interface. This would be fantastic (besides, my headseat is on its last hurrah).
Diana M
Ofcourse…this would be awesome tho!!
Deanna
Most definitely!

It is very tempting to text and drive – especially when what you want to text is a single word or short phrase. I am very against it though. It is also dangerous to talk on the phone and read emals/texts/
Chrissy
I used to text until it became a law not to in Minnesota. Now i see how dumb it was. A car accident can happen in a split second!

I have been tempted, but I had enough problems trying to call. So now if I have to call someone, I wait until I stop my car. It is illegal in my state to text & drive!!

Very tempted… I start it and then tell myself to STOP!!! (And then finish at red light. BAD MOMMY!)
Maggie
I’ll read a text at a red light, but not actually type. Probably shouldn’t do that either, thanks!

I have been tempted, i have actually done it once, but only once. It is for sure not safe, and when i did it, it was a quick “DRIVING” response, lol. This would be great since my siblings for some reason think it is easier to text, than talk. ugh!
