Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Have you ever wondered if you remembered to close the garage door? Or have you ever worried about the safety of your garage door? If so, then the Genie SilentMax 1000 garage door opener and its many new safety features will offer you peace of mind.
Not only does the SilentMax 1000 provide intelligent design for the homeowner that wants quiet performance with superior design and conveniences, it also offers some pretty amazing safety features like a comprehensive Safe-T-Beam system that meets or exceeds CSA regulations, an auto reversing system that prevents it from closing if something is in the way, and a superior encryption system that automatically changes the access code every time you use it to prevent unauthorized persons from opening your garage door.
The Genie SilentMax 1000 is so simple to install that my husband was able to put it up without assistance in about an hour. I have to say it definitely lives up to its name — it’s the quietest garage door opener I’ve ever heard (or not heard in this case). I was in the house and had no idea he was already testing it out!

I love the keypad entry system because it means I don’t have to carry bulky keys with me when I go for a walk or to the park, and it’s also great for those rare occasions when the kids beat me home from school. They just punch in our PIN number, and can let themselves into the house.

One of my favorite features is the optional Network Adapter. It’s easy to get distracted when pulling out of the driveway with a carload of kids, so this handy little feature tells me at a glance whether or not I’ve remembered to shut the garage door. The Network Adapter remote will beep and flash green when closed properly or give a warning tone and flash read when not closed properly.
Today, one lucky Deal Seeking Mom winner will win a Genie Silent Max 1000 Garage Door Opener prize pack that includes:
- One SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener
- Closed Confirm 3-button Remote and Network Adapter Combo

Security! Especially when the power goes out and we have to unlock the door for it to go up and down… because if it is unlocked for us, it is unlocked for everyone!

Biggest safety concern – the safety features aren’t so smart sometimes. My kids know how to jump over the laser safety light thing on our garage doors, so they don’t get “tripped” and therefore, the garage door doesn’t stop. My dog has mastered the ability to get hit too, he stands there two feet on each side of the “laser line” and the garage door actually touches him before he jumps out of the way…yet, blowing dust or snow will “trip” it.

My biggest safety concern is forgetting to close it because we are horrible about locking the inside door. I also really need a keypad because my 3 year old opens our front door without asking (which is a safety issue for me obviously) so we put an extra door latch on up high and now we can’t get in our own front door with a key from the outside if that’s on. So being able to go in through the garage would really help with that too!

I am always worried about driving away and for some reason the door not closing. I have circled back around the block wondering if I closed the door or not.

My biggest worry has always been kids getting caught, even though there are safety sensors. I would love a keyless entry door, and one that is quiet would be GREAT–ours is SO loud and our bedroom is right above it!

My biggest concern is if I close the garage door when leaving in the morning, I have driven back to the house to double check more than once.

my concern for garage doors is they are never secure, thieves can pull up on the door and enter, they never lock
