Win-It Wednesday: Genie Garage Door Opener Prize Pack

October 12, 2011 by Deal Seeking Mom

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Have you ever wondered if you remembered to close the garage door? Or have you ever worried about the safety of your garage door?  If so, then the Genie SilentMax 1000 garage door opener and its many new safety features will offer you peace of mind.

Not only does the SilentMax 1000 provide intelligent design for the homeowner that wants quiet performance with superior design and conveniences, it also offers some pretty amazing safety features like a comprehensive Safe-T-Beam system that meets or exceeds CSA regulations, an auto reversing system that prevents it from closing if something is in the way, and a superior encryption system that automatically changes the access code every time you use it to prevent unauthorized persons from opening your garage door.

The Genie SilentMax 1000 is so simple to install that my husband was able to put it up without assistance in about an hour. I have to say it definitely lives up to its name — it’s the quietest garage door opener I’ve ever heard (or not heard in this case). I was in the house and had no idea he was already testing it out!

I love the keypad entry system because it means I don’t have to carry bulky keys with me when I go for a walk or to the park, and it’s also great for those rare occasions when the kids beat me home from school. They just punch in our PIN number, and can let themselves into the house.

One of my favorite features is the optional Network Adapter. It’s easy to get distracted when pulling out of the driveway with a carload of kids, so this handy little feature tells me at a glance whether or not I’ve remembered to shut the garage door. The Network Adapter remote will beep and flash green when closed properly or give a warning tone and flash read when not closed properly.

Today, one lucky Deal Seeking Mom winner will win a Genie Silent Max 1000 Garage Door Opener prize pack that includes:

  • One SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener
  • Closed Confirm 3-button Remote and Network Adapter Combo

To enter, tell me what your biggest safety concern is with garage doors.

My biggest concern about the garage door is it will malfunction, and one of my kids will be underneath it. I try to keep a close watch of them.

Our garage door safety issue is that our neighbor’s garage door opener opens our door. Or closes it! And we’ve been told nothing can be done short of replacing the opener. I have to be careful that the car is totally in or totally out in case the neighbor leaves while my door is open. And not to mention the security issue of my door opening on it’s own when I’m not there!

With Garage doors, my biggest concern is having it go out or not work in the event of a power outage. We do not currently use our garage other than storage at this time because we do not have a garage door opener. With three kids, i would worry about them not being able to close the garage or get into it on their own to get their bikes. But it woudl make life so much easier!

I worry about my daughter’s fingers getting pinched when it’s in manual mode.

My biggest concern is my garage door not closing all the way. I can only open the door with the remote. To close it, I have to go hold the main button down till it closes all the way then leave through the front door! What a pain! I can definetly use a new one!!

My biggest concern with a garage door is that it would malfunction and hurt one of the kids. Beyond that, possessions are replaceable.

My biggest concern for our garage door is that its hard to open the garage door with the remote. I rarely works and then we have to go all the way round through the front door and leave the car outside. With the winter approaching I would certainly want this issue resolved.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
