We keep a coin jar on the dresser in our bedroom. Whenever I feel like a special night out, I dump my jar in the Coinstar and we go out on the town.

We have a ceramic turtle-shaped bank that says “Vacation Fund” for our coins, and we only count it about once a year.

I keep a coin jar, but never count it. I save it for something special, like a vacation.

I put all of my change in either the saving for a Harley jar (which will we never get) or in an old refrigerator size beer keg. I don’t touch the money till we are really broke and being in construction that can happen at any time. The last time I turned my change in to Coinstar I received about $200.00

We do keep a coin jar – we don’t count the money though. When the jar is full we take it to the bank and deposit it into the kids’ savings accounts.

I have always had a coin jar, but my ex always took the change before we could really save anything. I am planning to start another one as soon as we are unpacked and I find the jug. LOL

I have a coin jar. When my kids get too many coins they sell them to me and when I get to many I sell them to Coinstar.

We keep a coin jar and don’t usually count it. We use the coins for tolls on our yearly drive from NC to Chicago for Christmas and back. Works out pretty well!

I have a coin jar that counts for me. When it gets to $40, it goes into a plastic togo container. It then stacks up for Christmas – although I needed to tap into it heavily this year for daughter’s college – o well!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
