My favorite food is Cornbread Dressing with Cranberry Sauce.
My favorite part of the day is watching my kids dig into the meal. They talk about it all year long and look forward to being able to eat it over and over thanks to leftovers. (And a mom who cooks for 12 even though there are only 4 of us)

We have started a new tradition–writing something we are thankful for on a slip of paper and rolling it up in crescent rolls to bake–kind of like a fortune cookie. The kids love it!!

I am kind of picky as to what is “best” but for me, it really is my own cooking, lol. Awful, I know. I make stuffing from scratch and with fresh herbs and include a small amount of smoked oysters, just to give it a subtle flavor I enjoy as a non-oyster fan. I also LOVE mashed potatoes and gravy, real and true turkey gravy with carmelized juices with good quality broth added. Yum, wow, yum.

We always do the turkey, the green bean casserole, rolls, mashed potatoes, stuffing – the usual. no cranberry sauce at our house, though! My mom is an EXCELLENT baker, though, so the desserts are to die for – and my fav is the easiest one she makes – oreo truffles! :-)
thanks!

I’ve always loved Thanksgiving just because it is the one time each year that my whole family gets together. I’m always so thankful to see everyone and to know they are well. This year, I’m hosting Thanksgiving and I’m so excited! I’ve been following Once A Month Mom’s blog and I’ve already got most of the dinner cooked and frozen. This should be a breeze and I’ll have more time to enjoy the family! Happy Thanksgiving, all!
