Who Wants to Win a Flip Digital Video Camera?

August 29, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out my first-ever vlog attempt on frugal baby and toddler feeding, so you’ve seen the Flip in action! The quality of the video far exceeded my expectations, and it is SO simple to use.

I was really kind of nervous about doing a video. “You, uh, want me to do what? Put myself on display in a series of videos in front of all my readers? Um . . . okay.” But I had a great time learning how to use my Flip and playing around with Windows Movie Maker. Now that I’ve got one done and relaxed a little, I’m really looking forward to my next vlog!

So how would you like to have one of these fabulous little gadgets for your very own? Courtesy of Walmart and Pure Digital, I have one Flip Digital Video Camera in my hot little hands for one lucky reader to win! You could even use it to win a year’s worth of groceries by submitting your best money-saving tips on video to the Walmart channel on YouTube. I would be SO thrilled if one of my readers won the groceries!!!

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose any combination of one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment telling me the best money-saving method or tip that you’ve actually used recently. Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.

2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winners easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Prize:
(1) Flip Video F260 Ultra 60-Minute Digital Camcorder, ARV $125

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, September 7th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment and post the winner on Monday, September 8th. Good luck!

We are still loving our clothesline. Not only does it save us energy from not using the dryer we also heat up our house less requiring less from our AC unit.

I go shopping every few days since we moved to the city (food goes bad less often, and I’m rarely stuck what to make for dinner) AND I buy used, used, used. Used textbooks, used clothes, used kitchen gadgets. No reason to pay for new when I can get like-new.

Ooh, a video camera, fun! And so tiny, I could carry it while I carry baby! Okay, here’s my money-saving tip: We have oodles of board books and I buy most of them at the thrift store for less than a dollar. Because the pages are so sturdy, you can just spray them down and wipe them off when you get them home. So then it doesn’t matter if baby licks them and chews on them, because they’re clean! I just used this today, 4 board books, each 69 cents. About 10% or less of what you’d pay for them new. –Carrie [email protected]

Well this isn’t actually anything new. I’m living in a big city right now where everyone drives everywhere, since I don’t have a car that makes it difficult. But one of the biggest ways I save money is by walking. Sure it takes so much longer to do everything, but this way I don’t have to pay for the bus, or god forbid, cabs, plus I’m getting a lot more exercise than I used to, so it’s a win-win.

My best money-saving tip: use fans throughout the house to save on air-conditioning. I also do all my shopping and errands on my work lunch break so I don’t have to drive all the way to town (26 miles) on the weekends.

My biggest money saver is combining coupons with sales when I shop for groceries. I also send for samples which often generate coupons also.

I’ve used lots of the CVS deals recently and actually made money shopping there. Last week I made $4.00 and got $20.00 worth of products free.

One of my favorite ways to save $$$ is to use coupons and sales, etc. No new thing there…BUT…I usually buy 3 newspapers on Sunday, all from DIFFERENT markets. For example, I live in a rural area and most Sundays will purchase the Valley News (local paper), Manchester Union Leader (biggest in state of NH), and the Boston Globe. It’s very common for me to have so-so local coupon inserts, but better (ie higher value and more pages in the insert) coupons in the bigger papers. I can also get a few sales flyers in the Manchester paper that aren’t local, like Target, to check out sales there in case a road trip is in the works.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
