Who Wants to Win a Flip Digital Video Camera?

August 29, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out my first-ever vlog attempt on frugal baby and toddler feeding, so you’ve seen the Flip in action! The quality of the video far exceeded my expectations, and it is SO simple to use.

I was really kind of nervous about doing a video. “You, uh, want me to do what? Put myself on display in a series of videos in front of all my readers? Um . . . okay.” But I had a great time learning how to use my Flip and playing around with Windows Movie Maker. Now that I’ve got one done and relaxed a little, I’m really looking forward to my next vlog!

So how would you like to have one of these fabulous little gadgets for your very own? Courtesy of Walmart and Pure Digital, I have one Flip Digital Video Camera in my hot little hands for one lucky reader to win! You could even use it to win a year’s worth of groceries by submitting your best money-saving tips on video to the Walmart channel on YouTube. I would be SO thrilled if one of my readers won the groceries!!!

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose any combination of one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment telling me the best money-saving method or tip that you’ve actually used recently. Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.

2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winners easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Prize:
(1) Flip Video F260 Ultra 60-Minute Digital Camcorder, ARV $125

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, September 7th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment and post the winner on Monday, September 8th. Good luck!

Downsize your trash can. We went with the recommended size and realized recently it was only at most half full. We called the trash company to downsize, purchased our own trashcan for $14, and should see savings of $120 a year.

Plan ahead!! At the end of every week, I take my grocery list and search through the fliers of the three major grocery stores that are close by (have to think about gas!). I make seperate lists of what is best priced at each store, and make sure I pick it up at that store. If there’s only a small amount of items at one store, and it’s not a huge sale, I’ll leave out that store(s) for the week to save on gas. Also I keep an eye out for those big warehouse meat sales, and make sure to buy two or more packages, depending on deep freeze room. I portion it out and then keep it in the deep freeze for times that meat isn’t on sale. I also do all of the months big shopping on the customer appreciation days that we have here – all the major chains offer 15% off the entire store. Combine that with sales and coupons, and you can get some really good (if not free) deals!

Well my money saving tips are kind of boring but here goes anyway. I clip coupons and use them. Make a weekly grocery menu and list and stick to it. I also pack my lunch and my daughters lunch everyday. One other thing I have been trying to do is unplug electronics when not in use. [email protected]

I love using rebates for those extra savings. Most of the time you end getting your items for free just have to wait about 30 days to get your rebates in the mail.

My best money saving tip is to use coupons for grocery shopping, shop once a week, and shop the sales! I can usually save over 50% of my total grocery bill this way! That adds up to a lot of money overall. Thanks!

My best advice would be to invest in a good vacuum sealer and use your freezer! I usually make double or even triple batches of chili, stew, soup, etc. and stock it in the freezer. I’ll also freeze cupcakes and cookie dough. Not only does this save me a ton of money on snacks, the quality and taste is much better than anything I could purchase at the store.

I have also started growing my own vegetables. I even made homemade salsa with all my tomatoes and peppers and put up my own dill pickles. It’s easier than you think and it saves a LOT of money!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
