Which Grocery Stores Double Coupons?

May 24, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski 837 Comments

One of the questions I’m asked most frequently these days is, “Which grocery stores double coupons in [my area]?” I’ve generally been responding by telling them to contact their local stores and ask what their policy is — but today it occurred to me that perhaps we could create a resource that will save everyone a little time and energy.

So to that end, I’d like to compile a list of grocery stores that double by state, and I need your help. Please scroll down and leave a comment on this post with your state and any grocery stores that you know of that double coupons.

I’ll use the information to create a resource that will allow users to easily look up their state and find out which stores will double coupons. Thanks for your help!

I am in Columbus Ohio. Righht now our kroger dbls up to .99 it seems its up to the store how many like coupons. Giant eagle will dbl up to .99 with a limit of 12 like coupons except for printables then its only 2. meijer will dbl upto .99 but only 2 likes will dbl the rest are at face value. Also meijer says no multi transactions in the same trip, but Ive never had them say no to the money either. If Kroger stops dbling I will stop shopping there , i guess giant eagle would become my store then.

I live in Central Illinois. Schnuck’s of Bloomington and Normal double coupons .50 and below and roll anything over .50 to 1.00. Schnuck’s in Champaign doubles coupons to .40 cents and doesn’t roll anything to 1.00. Kroger in Bloomington and Normal doubles coupons .50 and under but recently they changed their doubling coupon policy to allow only 2 coupons per item that can double. Stinks! However, just use the self-serve aisle and do a bunch of multiple transactions in order to double all of your coupons. A hassle, but well worth it. Same thing at Meijer in Bloomington-Normal……doubles coupons .50 and under but only allows 2 coupons for 2 items to double. I use the self-serve aisle here as well, in order to get all of my coupons to double.

Oh, and also, K-Mart in Pontiac, Bloomington, and Champaign all double (with a limit of 5 coupons) .50 and under coupons if your total purchase is 25.00 or more. The 25.00 purchase can be all for grocery items and the total amount is added BEFORE coupons so that is nice too.

Von’s in Aliso Viejo, Ca doubles. However, it seems like they double only the first coupon (at times), “like coupons” entered at face value.

i also am curious if anyone knows of any salvage grocery stores in nebraska i researched all over the internet and came up with nothing, the closest is in iowa, i think i am going to write our government about this, both coasts and southern states have great deals on double and tripiling coupons and have salvage grocery stores but omg we have a $7.25 minimum wage and the average family of 3 pays $675.00 (2 bedroom apartment) rent i think its crazy, what are you all paying for rent and how much is your state minimum wage? its crazy, i have a family of 6 and pay $1489 a month in morgage my hubby only brings home $2100 if he makes all his bonus’ at work, he does work salary but he also works over 60 hours a week, this is a normal think here in nebraska! every tax return goes to pay off my credit cards that i rack up all year long making minimum payments all year long buying groceries… what to do hmmmmm….

    I live in Georgia –
Publix double up to 50 cents. They will accept store coupons from competitors also and you can use BOTH mfg coupon and store coupon.

KROGER – will double up to 50 cents. They take manufacturer coupons and they will allow a manufacturer coupon and a store coupon to be used on the same item. However, they will not accept an E-coupon and a manufacturer paper coupon on the same item.

I have used coupons all my life. Many people used to think that using coupons meant you were poor.

These couponing shows have ruined everything. And they are staged people!!!! They came to my town not long ago and an employee told me that the coupon people were allowed to use more coupons than the ordinary customer. The store has a 3 alike and 10 coupon limit but they allowed the coupon people to use as many as they liked for TV.

Before all these stupid “reality” shows they didn’t care how many coupons you used or how many like ones you had.

You had to see this coming. If the demand gets too high, stores and manufactures will end it. I already see expiration dates being cut down. I remember a time when you had coupons that didn’t expire or be good for at least 6 months out.

I hope every one of those shows go away so that those of us that use coupons to save money (not to see how much we can stuff in our basement) will go back to just saving money for our family.

I think people have gotten carried away with the couponing. It makes the stores put limits on the number of coupons you can use and drives up the cost for everyone. I use coupons, but in the extreme because I feel that is running the grocery stores out of business.

JR I also dont believe in using coupons to obtain stuff that you dont need, I also dont believe that is causing stores to go out of business they get reimbursed by the manufactor and they get a handling fee for accepting the coupon in the first place. Most of the time the limits are put on by the issuer of the q such as p &g and unilever they state a limit of 2 or 4 likes right on the q. Because of using coupons my family is able to eat things that we normally wouldnt be afforded the luxary of having. Any store has the right to refuse or limit the use of coupons. My coupon usage has nothing to do with what is driving up the cost of goods and services but since this is not a political forum we wont get into all that just now. It is what it is, just live and let live.
