Which Grocery Stores Double Coupons?

May 24, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski 837 Comments

One of the questions I’m asked most frequently these days is, “Which grocery stores double coupons in [my area]?” I’ve generally been responding by telling them to contact their local stores and ask what their policy is — but today it occurred to me that perhaps we could create a resource that will save everyone a little time and energy.

So to that end, I’d like to compile a list of grocery stores that double by state, and I need your help. Please scroll down and leave a comment on this post with your state and any grocery stores that you know of that double coupons.

I’ll use the information to create a resource that will allow users to easily look up their state and find out which stores will double coupons. Thanks for your help!

    Southern Indiana
Krogers doubles up to 10 of the same coupons up to 50cents
Meijers doubles only 2 of the same coupons up to 50cents
Love to find a place that doubles more then that but Krogers has an awesome policy so far and ALOT of clearance items daily!

In North Carolina, Lowe’s and Harris Teeter always double up to 1.00, but Harris Teeter runs super double special weeks 3 or 4 times a year when they double up to 2.00, and also run triple coupon weeks and triple up to 1.00. They only accept 3 identical coupons and a limit of 20 per day.

Arizona: Bashas’, Fry’s and Safeway double every day. Albertson’s doubles sometimes but normally it is face value only. Also Fry’s has been running a promo almost the entire year for coupons up to $1 so it’s more than doubling depending on coupon amount.

I just talked to the store manager of our local Giant Eagle In Dover Ohio. She said they are changing the policy to 12 double coupons per item up to .99 the only reason being the shelves are getting empty fast they are the only one in our area who doubles coupons. She said please if you need a case of something we will pre-order a day ahead and you can use doubles for all of them. Was a very nice experiencs.

Well, finally happened. Plattsburgh NY used to be the best. A few years back Price Chopper Doubles, no limit, $5.00 would be $10.00. Grand Union offered Triple up to $1.00. When GranD Union Closed down, Price Chopper went to Double up t0 $1. When P&C closed down, it took a while, but now, Price Chopper will double up to .99 cents only now. If they can get the last grocery chain closed, then I bet they would take that away too. So started this week, Price Chopper Plattsburgh NY, up to .99 cent. People have started t ocomplain and I hope they will continue to until it is back at $1

I live in Gadsden, AL. Dollar General will double a manufacturer coupon with a Dollar general coupon. So 1 coupon must be a Dollar General coupon and the other a manufacturer coupon. But it can be done. Did some digging on their site for this one.

Oh, I want to say I always buy store brands if they’re cheaper. No use getting our kids hooked on name brands we can’t afford day to day, right? Unless they’re on sale & meet the cheaper by oz. test.

Safeway in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado doubles coupons up to $0.50. They also “double” coupons greater than $0.50 to $1. So a $0.75 coupon would “double” to $1.
