Which Grocery Stores Double Coupons?

May 24, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski 837 Comments

One of the questions I’m asked most frequently these days is, “Which grocery stores double coupons in [my area]?” I’ve generally been responding by telling them to contact their local stores and ask what their policy is — but today it occurred to me that perhaps we could create a resource that will save everyone a little time and energy.

So to that end, I’d like to compile a list of grocery stores that double by state, and I need your help. Please scroll down and leave a comment on this post with your state and any grocery stores that you know of that double coupons.

I’ll use the information to create a resource that will allow users to easily look up their state and find out which stores will double coupons. Thanks for your help!

In Hendersonville, TN, I know for a fact that Publix and H.G. Hills double coupons 50 cents and under.

Consequently, H.G. Hills also gives several cents off for every reusable bag you bring in (like Target.)

Baltimore MD – Giant, Safeway, Superfresh, Shoppers.

All double coupons up to .99 face value. So yes, a .75 coupon would double to $1.50 off.

you are so lucky your giant doubles face value up to 99cents! My say they do but they only double as long as the coupons don’t double over a dollar, even tnough they are supposed to.

Albertson’s Washington State. They periodically have 3 twice the value coupons in their ad that you can use to double 3 coupons at $1 or less.

The Mars here in Baltimore doesn’t double nor do they accept Internet printed coupons unless they issued them. Needless to say I don’t shop there much lol

South Carolina-Bi-Lo – amount varies and there is a limit, i think it also varies but my store doubles first 6 of identical coupons, up to .60

Publix-my store doubles up to .50 and I don’t think there is a limit

Harris Teeter- up to .99 …they have a limit not sure how many (4?) -sometimes they triple, sometimes they also double up to 1.99(or 1.98?)

    hope that helped lol….

bi-lo ~Like items are limited to ten (10) coupons.
Remaining coupons on like items will be honored
      at face value.
The Double Coupon total must not exceed the
price of the item. (my local store doesnt follow this rule)
Double Coupons do not apply to alcohol and
      tobacco products.

i recently learned that a few stores in Vancouver Washington will double, because the stores in Portland Oregon across the river do, so they have to , in order to compete. (I think its Safeway, but you’d have to check.. )
