Walmart Deals Updated 9/23/08

September 23, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 38 Comments

Wal-Mart.com USA, LLC

I’ve got some more hot deals for you at Walmart this week! And I’m looking for your feedback. This list can be rather cumbersome being so long, and many of the deals are good for weeks at a time. So I’m wondering if it would be more useful to you as readers if I just post the new deals separately each week and maintain an ongoing list of current deals that I can edit as deals die.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Keep in mind that Walmart’s prices vary by region, even by store within the same area, but generally they are reasonably close to the listed prices. Also, be aware that at times the coupons themselves may vary by region.

You may find it helpful to print out and carry a copy of the Walmart corporate coupon policy with you.

I like your idea of only listing new deals & then having a hyper link to current deals.

I agree. I think listing the new deals at the top would be great. It would make it easier. But, still having the ongoing deals is good for those times I find myself getting some new coupons.

I like having all the deals listed in case I want to look at them all. It would be nice to have ALL new deals listed first and then the old ones. On another note….I am looked for a post… I thought it was from the blog but maybe not. It was about how someone called their Comcast to get cheaper cable and they said no so then the person found an online site and got a deal through the online site. The post showed the chat and everything. Was that this site? If not does anyone remember where I might have seen that? Thanks so much!

I went to Wal-mart the other day armed with my Johnson & Johnson $1 coupon for the easy sudsing bar, and my $3 coupon for Prep-H wipes. I tried to ring through (was on the ring-yourself line) the machine told me I was over the limit for that coupon. The cashier came over and said that they couldn’t run a coupon that was worth more than the product, then the CSF came over and told me the manufacturer could pursue Wal-mart for fraud if they let me use a coupon for something that was worth less, even if by cents. I didn’t see anything on the Walmart sites coupon policy about not being able to do that? Is there anything I can say in defense of this? I was surprised the machine rejected it though, and was wondering if anyone else was having this problem.

I like the idea of separating the new deals from the others. You could so it in separate posts or you could just put all the new ones at the top of the post and then do the others.

    Thanks for asking. :)

I think a masterlist is important for a newbie to your site. Someone who finds you next week might miss out on the “running” deals and only see the new list. If there is a way to keep it simple but still include the deals that are good from previous weeks, I would try that.

    Jasmine,

There is no rule against using a coupon that is more than the product price. You CAN use them. I have several times, but a manager will have to approve the coupon. The store will get back the amount of the coupon plus shipping, so they aren’t out anything by accepting it, and no one is going to pursue Walmart for a coupon. Walmart sold a product and so did a manufacturer. Everyone wins.

    Jasmine,

I had the same problem at my local Wal-Mart. I spoke with a manager that night, who also said that they could not accept my coupons. I even left a complaint for corporate, and when a manager called me back they were courteous but did not change their story. Sorry you had the same experience.

Just to be aware, my Walmart has just stopped accepting printables. I was furious since I had 20 or so coupons to use in the transaction. Yes, I stock up! Anyway, the manager said there was nothing she could do. I let my pride get in the way and told them I didn’t want any of the stuff I was to buy with coupons. I ended up buying my yogurt and other items at Kroger for just a little more than I would have at Walmart. Oh well.

Walmart is slowly losing my business, even with the good prices.

My Walmart says they don’t accept printables either, yet when I show them the corporate coupon policy, they claim that it’s corporate and they can’t do anything about it. I tell them that they are part of the Walmart chain that corporate wrote about, and they let me “this one time.” I haven’t tried again, but I am getting tired of trying to stick up for myself when I am not doing anything against their corporate policy. They are loosing my business as well, and they are the closest store to where I live.
