Carol, I think it depends on the individual situation. If you have multiple coupons and a very small budget, I think many people will still come out ahead with the additional time and efforts.

Carol, I posted Walgreen’s corporate information because, aside from this offer, there are those Walgreens stores that don’t like coupons, don’t like couponers, and will go to great effort to “keep us away.” We have three Walgreens stores where I live and two of them have treated myself and fellow couponers badly enough (without cause) that we have contemplated legal action. It was only when we made our intent known that they cleaned up their act. So this contact information is NOT about a detergent freebie; it’s about being treated with respect and consideration, and requiring every store to honor their own policies. BTW, our stores here did not even offer this deal.

Here is my story, I went to walgreens tonight. I TRIED to buy Purex, they were $2.99 on sale well, I had 5 $3.00 coupons when I went to check out the register would not take the 5 coupons It would only take 4. Can you explain this to me…why this happened I even asked them to adjust the coupon to $2.99 I was told that they can’t do that…it does not make sense at all HELP

It’s pretty common for the registers to be set up this way. What happens is the first four Purex coupons are applying their overage to the fifth bottle and another coupon can’t attach to it. He should have adjusted the coupons down to the purchase price or entered the fifth coupon manually at $2.96. If they’re being stubborn in the future, I’d recommend that you just put the product back that’s soaking up the overage and use your last coupon in a separate transaction.
