I’m in OR and we got this coupon also, but my Wags wouldn’t let me use it. I just moved to a really small town and I’m guessing not too many ppl coupon here because they look at me like I’m crazy!

I subscribe to 4 Sunday papers each week for the coupons. I really shouldn’t complain because I save literally hundreds of dollars with them….but I cannot find this Purex coupon in my RP. I live in AZ and even searched the Arizona Coupon Index. It says it is supposed to be there.

This isn’t the first time where I thought I was going blind, but really have just been unlucky. Such a bummer too. I am down to 1 bottle of laundry detergent and have been waiting for amazing sales! :(

I have about 7 Walgreens in my town, and went to four of them today, after reading about this deal. Only one gave me a problem. The kid at the register didn’t know what to do with the coupon, so he called the manager… she informed me that I had to buy one more bottle to use the coupon… but on that one more bottle was not able to get the 4th bottle free as that would be too many free items… I told her to just take the items off and went on my way. As I didn’t want to clear the shelves at any particular store… I went to three other stores where I had no problem at all. Strange how they all seem to make up their own rules?

Walgreens makes it tough on couponers for a reason. I’ve had direct contact with our district office and corporate headquarters. If you want to make a difference, write to them at their corporate headquarters: 200 Wilmot Road, Deerfield, IL 60015. The only way they’ll change anything is if we scream loud…and long!

I had no problem using mine in WI. The cashier didnt know what to do with it so she called the manager who said it’s legit. I only had to pay the .34 tax.

My Walgreens let me use the coupons. The items actually rang up at $2.99 each and then the cashier took the coupons at $2.99 for the BOGO, which left me with a balance. She called over the mgr, and she told her to take the coupons off and re-do them at $5.99 each (regular price). I paid $1.75 (tax) for 10 bottles!

wish I had a wags closer…it’s about 1/2 hour away and when I do go, they are usually out of stock of the things I go for. Tried at Giant in PA, and they would not accept them. They wouldn’t even let me use 1 of the coupons on 4 purex…so I would pay for 1 and get 3 free. Wouldn’t let me do it :(

I don’t see the B1G1 in my ad for this week. Only the 3 in 1 sheets 2 for $9. Has anyone in MD found the B1G1 deal? Thanks

@Erin, what town did you move to? I live outside McMinnville, and yes, here too some people look at you like your crazy :)

I tried this deal at the Mac walgreens, and they seemed rather ticked off that I even asked them about it. They wouldn’t let me do the deal at all.

I did the Purex BOGO deal tonight. Had to go to 3 different stores to use my 4 coupons. Two of the stores didn’t do it right. They tried to take off $7.00 instead of the sale price of 5.99 for the coupon. After I explained they could only charge the 5.99 which was the sale price listed in the computer, they rang it up again and the deal worked, although they did not like the idea of giving free product( I did pay the tax of .24 per bottle)the last store the Manager said I rocked. Jenny and Gang if I rock then you guys really rock.

The coupons was on the back page of the insert on my RP. I was annoyed because my Wags said earlier in the week they wouldnt do it- then last night the manager saw me and said he could take the coupons now-ughhh. I used them at Target already with the overage on my gillette coupons (not free but I thought would make them a better deal) I just wished they would get on the same page.

Brigi2te, you were right! After you responded to my post, I rushed back to WG’s last night and gave it a try. Nothing was marked, no signs, and the cashier knew nothing about it, but it DID ring up B1G1F! I subscribe to 6 Sunday papers, and then we get 2 other inserts from friends….so I had 8 coupons! I had to go to 4 Walgreens to get all 16 bottles. The cashiers at 3 out of the 4 Walgreens gave me trouble and said they would not take the coupon to give me the second item for free. I persisted and told them it was Walgreen’s Corporate Coupon Policy to take it and give the 2nd item for free. One told me that “his store was different.” I asked, “Your store has the authority to override the Corporate Policy? Let’s call and ask about that, shall we?” I asked each cashier to get the manager when they refused the coupon, and the managers all knew to accept the coupon, and they instructed the cashiers to take it. So I got 16 bottles for free! WOOHOO!!! I did have to pay tax of .19 cents on each bottle. Why is it that when the total is $0.00 at CVS — there is no tax? It’s zero dollars and you walk out with your merchandise paying nothing. At Walgreens, if you have a 5.99 item, and a 5.99 coupon, and the subtotal is 0.00, you still pay tax on the $5.99. Not at CVS. Wonder why that is? Not complaining, ’cause the detergent was still a good deal….$3.20 for 16 bottles ….unheard of!! Thank you everyone on this board!! I am new here and you are awesome. I started getting 6 newspapers delivered every Sunday after reading this board and it has already paid for itself. By the way, I learned that in our area, home delivery subscribers get different coupons than the newsstands…sometimes different books, sometimes more coupons and better coupons.

I’ll try this tomorrow, but I’m not holding my breath. I once tried a BOGO sale with a BOGO coupon, and the manager of one Wags said no. I have several of the Purex coupons. My mom gave me her’s, and I always get several papers at my local Discount Drug Mart. They sell the Columbus Dispatch Sunday paper for .99 each, instead of the 2.00 price it’s supposed to go for.

My Walgreens said I had to buy an additional detergent so I ended up paying for 2 and getting 4 free. But $7.38 for 6 isn’t too bad. Not as good as free but not too bad.

@ Sarah, I’m in Sandy. We just moved here from Dallas, TX and the ladies in Dallas clear the shelves quickly but here I can definitly take my time. It’s been quiet a change (couponing at least)!

Did anyone find HE detergent? I was able to get 4 bottles (but I kinda got what was left). Curious if they carry the Purex in HE, I will just go back and exchange when they are stocked again. Thanks

Hi, I dont want to sound redundant, but could you guys please clarify the deal/process. I am definately a couponer, but I was a little confused. Are you guys sayin that I should be able to get four bottles of the detergent with one coupon from the ad all for free. I was under the impression that I would need to purchase one bottle. I have the coupons, could someone please let me know. Thanks in advance!!!!!

I just went with a friend to both locations here (Jonesboro, AR) and there was only 1 bottle left at each store. The other couponers cleaned them out. :(

Will have to call around to neighboring towns to find some I guess.

Still confused here too. How do you buy none and get one free? I did not see the liquid in the ad, only the sheets.

This offer is an unadvertised sale. Basically the way an offer like this works is the store pays for the free item from the sale, and the manufacturer pays for the free item from the coupon. Some stores may instead have you pay for one item and get two free. Either way, it’s a good deal for laundry detergent!

Thanks for your input! I am jus wondering how are people getting four bottles without purchasing any at all? My location has the unlisted promotion also, so I will just try my luck and see what happens!

I got the coupons from a redplum insert. I know some people on the post said theirs only had the BOGO for the Purex sheets inside however.

Bummer! The Walgreen’s around me will not do this. They said they will not allow me to not pay anything. I even explained that the manufacturer reimburses them plus .08 handling fee, but (and this is the manager mind you) said they would not allow it and they talked to other Walgreen’s managers and they were in agreement. What do you do about this type of situation?

Sheree, at the very least in that case they should allow you to purchase one item and get two free, one for the sale and one for the coupon. I’d call corporate and speak with them about the situation.

I think it’s stupid to go to all this trouble… call corporate, drive around to various stores… by the time you do all that, you have spent too much of your valuable time and money for gas to even call it a free offer…. STUPID
