Target: LeapFrog Tag Reading System $2.48

September 5, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 120 Comments

LeapFrog Tag Reading System Deal
Can you believe that Target still has some of the clearance-priced LeapFrog Tag Reading Systems?!?! And now they’re down to just $12.48!

My Target still had 7 of them sitting on the shelf tonight, all mixed in with the newer version at full price. The price tag read $34.98; however, they scanned at the $12.48 price. Use the $10 off any LeapFrog Tag Reading System printable (PDF), and they’re just $2.48!!!

LeapFrog Tag Reading System, $12.48 (clearanced from $49.99)
$10 off any LeapFrog Tag Reading System printable (PDF)
$2.48 after coupon!

Looking for a deal on the Tag books? Head to Kmart!

Select LeapFrog Tag Books, $4.80
$4/1 LeapFrog Tag Book printable (PDF)
$3/1 LeapFrog Tag Book printable (IE) or printable (FF)
As low as $0.80 after coupon!
(Thanks, Organic Deals and Coupons!)

Any other deal suggestions for the books?

The books are $7.00 on clearance at K-Mart and are 20% off, making them $1.80 (after discount & coupon). These will go fast though as this is spreading fast throughout the blogosphere :) So HURRY!

That’s right, CanCan — they’re $2.48 after the coupon. Pretty amazing, huh?!?

Thanks, Susan! I’ll add that info to the post.

Me again! Sorry, just read that you might also get a $5.00 catalina for each Leap Frog item you buy. I did not get one, but others are reporting they did, so maybe!

I had actually bought a Tag Learning System @ Target last week for $14.98 after coupon… you think they’ll price-match the $2.48 deal if I bring my receipt?

On a side note, I was able to buy two more Tag Learning Systems today for $2.48 each. I used my $5 gift card from the Special K deal to buy them, so I paid nothing OOP. Woohoo!

Awesome — thanks so much, Susan! Kmart is not one of my favorite stores, but I’ll make an exception to get some super cheap books.

Modern Day Mom, I don’t think Target will price adjust on clearance items. You may be able to return it and rebuy it. I’d print another coupon to take if you plan to give that a try.

Modern Day Mom. If it is with in 14 days they should be able to give you the 12.48 price. My Target in AZ sold out of these a couple of weeks ago. Good luck finding this deal =)

I really need one of these and our Target is out of the clearance ones. If someone is willing to buy and ship me one, I would be willing to pay you a little extra to make it worth your time. I can do paypal. I have been buying the books all year long for Christmas for my little boy, but now I need the reader.

Thanks in advance, if anyone can help, please email me at [email protected]

I bought 5 at Kmart and did separate transactions for each. Each time a $5 cat printed out good for $5 off ANY leap frog product! I found a leapster game for $8.80 and used the $5 cat to get it for only $3.80!!!! And now I have $20 in leap frog cats to still be used! :)

I checked my Target in Coeur d’ Alene Id, and no luck! What a bummer. They had three on the shelves and they were 49.99. Darn. I was hoping to get one or two to put away for Christmas.

Our Target hasn’t had any of them on clearance at all! I’m so jealous of all of you that got the discount. This is what I want to get for our daughter for her birthday in November. I’ll keep looking!

I wouldn’t bother stockpiling these for gifts unless you’ll be giving them away SOON. I suspect there will be some good Christmas deals on the newer model, and this model is clearly dated. The clearance Tags hold only five books. It’s frustrating when kids want to read a book but it isn’t loaded on the pen. Naturally, when you remove a book to load another, that’s the book your child wants to read next. (My son reads all of his books, one after another.) Don’t get me wrong; it’s definitely worth $2.49, which is what I paid, but it just may not be the best gift to hold until Christmas or beyond. The recipient won’t be able to return it, they’ll quite likely being stuck spending $14 per book, or it’ll sit on a shelf, unopened, collecting dust (like my son’s Telestory–grrr–anyone remember those?) or , alternatively, end up on eBay. Incidentally, eBay is now flooded with this model–as well as the clearance books found at Kmart.

It’s hard to tell that they are on clearance because often times they aren’t marked! Just look through what they have for the box without the gold seal on the front and a yellow new bubble (green writing) on it. Mine were mixed in with the new ones. Then price scan to make sure. For Kmart, you get the $5 cat when you buy any Leapfrog product, so just use the regular $3 coupon on the clearanced book and then combine a regular $3 coupon and the $5 cat for a regular priced book to get them for $7, which is still a great price.
