Target: LeapFrog Tag Reading System $2.48

September 5, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 120 Comments

LeapFrog Tag Reading System Deal
Can you believe that Target still has some of the clearance-priced LeapFrog Tag Reading Systems?!?! And now they’re down to just $12.48!

My Target still had 7 of them sitting on the shelf tonight, all mixed in with the newer version at full price. The price tag read $34.98; however, they scanned at the $12.48 price. Use the $10 off any LeapFrog Tag Reading System printable (PDF), and they’re just $2.48!!!

LeapFrog Tag Reading System, $12.48 (clearanced from $49.99)
$10 off any LeapFrog Tag Reading System printable (PDF)
$2.48 after coupon!

Looking for a deal on the Tag books? Head to Kmart!

Select LeapFrog Tag Books, $4.80
$4/1 LeapFrog Tag Book printable (PDF)
$3/1 LeapFrog Tag Book printable (IE) or printable (FF)
As low as $0.80 after coupon!
(Thanks, Organic Deals and Coupons!)

Any other deal suggestions for the books?

I found the last one at my Target last saturday. The box was opened but it still had all the stuff in it. I did not find any books though. All of them are listed as $13.97 and I did not want to spend that much. However there was an offer going if u bought a leapfrog DVD for 9.99 along with a tag book u got 5$ off.So I did that and also added in the $4 off for the tag book and ended up spending $17~ together.. Not a great deal but atleast something for the time I spent in looking for it:-( BTW all the tag systems with the ozzie & mac books have a 39.99$ price tag on them now and I swear they look exactly the same as the clearanced one! What am I missing here?

I couldn’t find any books at Kmart in SLC, UT area but I decided to try Sears since they are owned by the same company. They had TAG books clearanced for $6 minus $4 coupon, so I got them for $2. They had Spongebob, Fosters and I Spy.

If anyone has some books to part with I would greatly appreciate them. I got my daughter the Tag reader for her birthday but the only book I was able to find that wasn’t full price was SpongeBob. There is a lady that is supposed to be sending me Kung Fu Panda and I Spy, but I don’t know if they will come or not for sure –I sent her items so hopefully they will come.

I am going to give my kider the book for her birthday in October and would love to have some books to go with it.

    Thanks,
    Roxy

    Hey ladies,
Target has all Tag Books on sale this week for 9.99, use the $4 coupon and you can get a new tag book for as low as 5.99.

Books are also on sale buy two, get one free at Toys R Us. They are priced at $14; after three $4 coupons, they’re only $5.33 before tax. Toys R Us has a very nice selection, too. Kmart has only a handful of nonclearance titles, and they were all gimmicky cartoon- or movie-based books. WalMart has a better selection, but for some reason, they are sold out of the good titles at the three WalMarts I’ve been to over the past few weeks. Target has a pretty good selection, too, though they didn’t carry all the titles I ended up getting at Toys R Us. I bet we’re in store for some good Christmas sales on these, too!

The Pens are also Buy 2 Get one Free. They are on sale from $49.99 to $29.99. Pair that with 2 $10 off coupons and you can get 3 pens for $40.00. It isn’t $2.48, but $13 isn’t bad!

I have an extra Tag that I bought back when it was still priced at $12.48. I thought about returning it, but thought I would first check here and see if anyone is still looking for one. It’s not $2.48, but it’s still way cheaper than full price! I would prefer to swap the system for a few books, but am willing to mail if someone wants to reimburse the price I paid + shipping. Please email me at lsandifer AT gmail DOT com if interested!

I was bummed my Target didn’t have any on clearance. But since Target will allow you to stack coupons, you should be able to get it for free using this $10 manf. coupon ans the new Target coupon for $10 off. I’m going to try it Friday.

These are $49.99, so they’d still be $29.99.

leapfrog.com has them for 39.99 and you can use the coupon I had to order it using the phone. The reason they were on clearance is because it was the older model the new ones hold 10 books.. and toys r us have the books for $10 dollars. I ‘m going to see if I can use a coupon.

Paula, the link for the Tag system, from this post, that was posted 2 months ago, has coupons that expire 12-31-09. The book ones are expired, but that’s b/c this was posted TWO MONTHS AGO. You can look at the CURRENT leap frog deal on this site to find the current coupons.

Checked my local Target and there are no older models…they’re 39.99 but I guess 50% is still a good deal using the $10 MQ/TQ. However, it’s not worth it really because I still have to buy the books separately, IMO :-)

Thanks for this nice blog Tara!

For those who are planning on getting the leapfrog tag system, check out the doorbuster sales at Kohls, they have it for 29.99 during the “black friday” sales. Use the $10 off coupon and get it for $19.99!

Just thought I would let you know that Wendy’s Kid’s meals have a $5 coupon on the bag that is good for the books. It makes the books $6.19 at Toys R Us right now.

Amazing!! I tried using the Save $5 coupon from the Tag Junior Book Pal when purchasing 9 books yesterday at Walmart — Copied them and all nine coupons worked; so with Walmart’s “special price” of $9.96 minus the $5, I ended up with a steal of a price.
    Thanks so very much!! Becky

I think these are PDF coupons though, right? If that’s the case, it’s okay to make multiple copies.

FYI…just went to Shopko and they had the Sponge Bob Book for $6.75 and the with the coupon it is $1.75. Also, they have Foster’s golden paddleball on sale for $4.75. The tag said $6.75 but it ran up as $4.75…bonus!
