Unfortunately I have had problems with other companies honoring their own coupons. It seems that corporations feel that they can do whatever they like regardless of law. I strongly urge you to take time to file with your state’s attorney general, the BBB, the FTC, and your state department of consumer protection.

We had the same issue at Sears… spent over one hour shopping and had items totalling well over 10.00. Not only would they NOT take our coupon (first and only use), they DID take ones from people in front of us and then put up the sign as we were waiting in line. Talk about NOT HAPPY !!!! ???? I think Sears should resend a coupon (mass media) including a code that would not allow more than one use, if they are so worried about getting a lot of business. Looks like they could use the business these days ! !!!!!!! ?????????????

If you call sears customer service and complain (and when they tell you they can’t do anything, ask for a manager), the manager will send you a $10 gift card–at least they did that for me last week when I called.
Think about it
The coupon has been abused and reprinted ( the origanl coupon came fron Seventeen magaize) so those that have copies aparently did not buy the magazine to get it. all of you know that have used it or tried, got something for free (or at least tried too). I have had ladies with hand fulls in line in front of me trying to cash in.. So lets not blame sears. lets blame those that yet again abused the system and again have spoiled it for those that do not..

To reply to the last comment. The coupon did not ONLY originate from Seventeen magazine. Sears also had this coupon available on their website. So YES, Sears is to blame. Some people did abuse the coupon but Sears did not specify in writing how to cover their own butt to avoid this abuse either. I printed the coupon from their website and tried to use it. That does not make me fraudulent in any way. I was not trying to use it more than once or on more than one purchase. So I will blame Sears and will not shop there in the future. They are hurting so bad for customers right now, they should treat the ones they do have a little better or they too will be out of business.

It’s a sad day when everything has to be in writing, As jaime stated above “the cup DIDN’T say that the coffee was hot!”.I guess common sense is a thing of the past. And it’s not only Sear Stores that do not accept reprinted coupons. it’s the majority of the big stores now ( WalMart- Meijers, JC Pennys etc). and yep it’s because of those that have abused the coupons etc.. so you can blame who ever you want to but.. I think the ones that have abused it are to blame..

Hi there, actually the pdf version online doesn’t work but the coupon printed in the seventeen magazine works…..
I went to sears …bought a hoodie and a top … 10 $ off….. yooohoooo ….. I love it…. makes it 5 $ each
piya
Actually this pdf version coupon is for online purchasing…. if u see the code in it…
Katie
Both the PDF version and the magazine version have codes you can use online, and both WERE meant for use in store and/or online. To: Think About It, most anybody that uses coupons knows that stores do not accept reprinted coupons, but the issue here is not reprintting any coupon, a coupon that does not have a print limit and does not state anywhere on it only one per person, CAN be used as many times as somebody wants to print and use it. Yes, it is coupon abuse to take it 10 different coupons and make 10 $10 transactions, but for those of us who printed ONE coupon, it is not fair to say we abuse it and we are the ones to blame. Sears is a HUGE company, they should have better policies in place.

I went to Sears in LaVale, MD. I picked out a top for $12.99 and tried to use the coupon. It came up as expired on the register. The clerk looked at it and could not see anything wrong with it so she called the manager. The manager informed her and I and all others on line to pay that it was a fraudulent coupon and that it had been printed from a magazine PDF. I politely told her that she was wrong – that it had been printed from the Sears.com website and she repeated that it had been printed from a magazine. Later I found this post and others about it. Sears has no business accusing customers of fraud.
Frankly, I’m ready to find a lawyer. I will never shop Sears again! I have contacted them to complain and everyone should – particularly if you were treated as I was.

I have worked in resturants for the last 20 years. I have dealt with mean drunks and even worse kitchen staff. I feel i have the backbone to handle anyone and anything. About 2 years ago i started working in retail. OMG…… ive have never met such miserable ,mean, nasty people until my first day when i had a coupon person. Its sad but true most coupon people are nice but a couple of bad ones make us not like any.
