I told you all about the free Schwan’s food giveaway several weeks ago, and I know many of you had trouble with the site the first day. A Schwan’s representative contacted me recently to share that they still have plenty of FREE food to give away, so if you haven’t cashed in on this fantastic deal, you’ve still got time!

    I ordered and got my food, but be prepared to become friends with the delivery guy. They are consistent and persistant. They really don’t like no for an answer.

    I got hamburgers too, we liked them. Our delivery guy is not pushy at all; just depends on the guy, I guess.

    Still waiting to hear from our local manager. Waited around all day for my delivery on Tuesday and nothing. Signed in Wednesday and it said it had been delivered. Chatted with a rep online and she said should couldn’t help but that I should be contacted by phone. Jeez. I guess they don’t really want my business.

    Just ordered my free burgers – It’ll make my kiddos happy because they are always asking to have burgers. They are only 2 & 4! Pushy little monkey children…

    Ordered Ice cream over 3 weeks ago, and still no ice cream…the guy was suppose to be here on a certin monday…didn’t show up until a week and half later, and left a not call me….weird!

    Last time I ordered the teriaky (sp) not really something… but i ordered it to the business, so can i order it to my house now on DH’s name or not? I’d like to try something else…..What do you think? :)

    ok…. I am having the same issue with never being prepared for the big yellow truck. I just don’t really know what to order and I don’t like spending that much … or I guess I haven’t found anything to be a great deal… but ever since I did the free deal…I can’t get rid of the guy. He is really nice, but he always acts shocked that I don’t have this big order planned. (and I am always shocked to see him coming down our lane AGAIN…it always seems like he was just here) If anyone have some great ideas/prices for items to order, I would love to know…

    My delivery guy was here the day after I ordered my free tortellini (very good, by the way). Then, showed up again 2 weeks later with the same order. He was perplexed as to why my order was in again; I hope he doesn’t try and deliver it again, this could become annoying.

    I ordered three cheese tortellini 2 weeks ago… I waited last Tuesday for them to arrive, and they never did. I called customer service, and they said they would deliever them this Tuesday, and still nothing. You think they would at least call! Glad I’m not the only one having trouble!

    i just ordered chicken pot pies. I guess we shall see how this goes. I think my neighbor does the same thing because I will see the shwan’s man every few months at her house and not bring much. :-)

    I ordered my free food an received it the day it was suppose to be ordered. I then reordered online and received that order. When I had schwans service a couple of years ago I had some of the same problems a few of you have mentioned. It took over a month to receive my first order so I just kept complaining to customer service. Finally the manager from the local schwans depot got in contact with me and my items were finally delivered. I also received a discount for the delay. I suggest to just keep complaining until you get your delivery and then ask for a discount.

    I ordered the day the promo started…never recieved the ice cream I ordered. I looked online and my order is not there now. strange. now i cannot get free food b/c I am considered an existing customer. I didnt get anything from them. i see the truck pass by daily..geez no wonder why i never considered ordering from them

    An idea for taking the pressure off. Maybe if you try telling the guy that you will look online and place your order online if you decide to get anything. I don’t know if it will work, I just put in my order so I haven’t had to try it yet.

    I ordered hamburgers from them and got them with no problems. The delivery guy was fine, not pushy at all. Of course I had a cold when he was there and I think he could tell that he woke me. He pretty much gave me my burgers and a catalog and left.

    I have been trying all morning to checkout on their websire. It’s down,says to try later. I am concerned. The try again later can be to late.

    I got the meatballs—they were very good, but overpriced. If I order anything from them again I think I will do the ice cream—it isn’t all that much more than good ice cream in the store is. Didn’t have any problems with the delivery, but I expect I’ll be seeing the delivery guy every couple of weeks asking if we want anything. One thing you guys all must understand—these delivery drivers generally make all or most of their pay based on commission. They are trying to support themselves, so if they seem pushy, it is because if they don’t sell, they don’t earn commission. THat’s not saying you have to buy if you don’t want to, but just understand why they are so persistent. My husband is a driver with another company, and believe me, sales everywhere are down. All the drivers from the companies he comes into contact with say the same thing.

    I placed my order for the hamburgers and received them when they said they would. The Sales guy even called to make sure that he was stopping by at a good time. He was polite when my husband told him we wanted to take some time and look over the catalog. I guess I can always order the ice cream sandwiches when he shows up!

    I signed up and they tell you what day they come, but not what time. So I got online with their chat and they game my number to their area manager. I got a call with in an hour and he told me when the driver would be there. When he arrived and he asked if I wanted to order anything else for the next time he came, I just told him I would order it online. They offer more deals online anyways. I had a great experience with Schwan’s and I didn’t have to pay a cent for my free food.

    I ordered my food on August 1st and I still haven’t gotten it. I check the website regulary and my delivery date keeps getting moved. Now it’s set for this Saturday. I would call their customer service # but I’m curious to see how long they’ll drag this out. They can’t expect me to order from them in the future with service like this.

    I told my delivery guy that I would order online, but he still shows up every other Friday… I think I might have to just cancel because I feel so bad everytime he drives all the way out here (and he always reminds me that we are his ONLY house in the hills…we live in the sticks) … The other tricky thing is that the stuff is frozen, so you pretty much have to be around and as you all know… waiting around when you have kids isn’t the best way to spend a day!

    I ordered on Aug 3 ground beef for the free food. I had a choice of Tuesday or Friday delivery date and I chose Friday. I did not look closely at the dates of delivery and it was for the 14th and not the 7th. I was out of town on the 14th and I called on the 10th and told them I was going to be out of town and no one would be home to accept the delivery. They set my delivery date as the 28th–fine but I got the little YELLOW note on my door on the 14th saying “Sorry We Missed YOU” wow, now that did me a world of good to call customer service! So I shall stay home until delivery tomorrow with my two small children–hopefully we get a decent hour delivery. I had a friend tell me her free food was delivered at 9:30pm!

    I placed an order and was told they only delivered in my area on Tuesday every two weeks, so I waited for almost two weeks anticipating my shrimp. I thought I was being thoughtful when they asked me what time I would like delivery and I gave them a window of 10a.m. to 6p.m. By 6:30 I called to see what the problem was and the customer service rep said she sent my phone number to the driver and he would call me. However 8p.m. no call. The next morning I called again and they told me my delivery was set for Wed., would I be home. I told her no and canceled my order. Their service seems to be awful .

    I ended up getting my order just fine and they were very nice about it. I am planning to order one at my b/f”s house and my parents.

    I placed my order for the cookie dough the day the promo started and i still have not recieved the cookie dough. i see the truck all the time , and still they have not came yet . i have called the company several time they always say they will get back in touch with me but they never do , i have given up hope on ever recieving my order , and i cant order again which is not right , but hey what can you do , nothing , so be prepared to waste days waiting on the truck , i know i have but i wont anymore.

    We missed our delivery day two weeks ago and I felt terrible. I had forgotten and wasn’t home. Our delivery man left two catalogs, with coupons, and his personal cell phone number! He said he will be here tomorrow and that he delivers every other Friday in our area. I often see his truck, so I’m hoping he does come. I place an order and am going to use one of the $10 first order coupons, on top of getting my free $10 item. Should be interesting to see how it all is!
