You never know who you will get and what their reaction will be, I ended up having the manager, and he said, “wow, looks like you found a loophole, good for you!” Also, I always make sure there are plenty before buying them up, my store had about 20 hula umbrellas, so I didn’t feel bad taking 6 in the afternoon of the last day to snag them. They will be great for my son’s backyard beach birthday party! Thanks for the info!

I got myself a cute little hula umbrella! Both my mom and I lost ours during a nasty storm a few months ago, so I went and got mine (the last one) and then told her about it, so we went hunting for one for her but never found anymore. :( I am so thrilled that I got one. I had bought another item with it and they basically paid me a penny to take the umbrella home. :)

In Atlanta the hula umbrella is $14.99 with the coupon (the larger one is $24.99 with the coupon) so can’t use the $5.00 coupon with just the umbrella :(.

Wonderful idea for keeping your umbrella upright!! Use a Christmas tree stand!! I works wonderfully. You can fill it with rocks if it is windy, but it works so great, I love it.

I tried the deal this morning and the manager tried told me that I couldn’t really use the $5 because technically it really wasn’t a $25 purchase after the coupons. But, he gave it to me anyway eventhough he wasn’t happy about it. So, then my dad got one, too! YAY!!!! Thanks for the great tip!!!

For some reason my dingy cashier rang it up twice but voided out one of them but then i had to pay tax on the voided one?? So my tax was $2.43?? I was going to pitch a fit but she probably would have just messed it up. Besides she already had to get a manager once because my coupon wasn’t printed vary well, running out of ink. OH well $2.43 thats still pretty cheap.

I went to my first Rite Aid and they were not on sale – still at $39.99 and I did not want to spend that much! Then went to a second store and they were on sale – I got it for 24 cents (taxes). The cashier did have to ask the manager if I could use both coupons and he said just ring the $5 coupon first – and it worked. THANKS for a great idea. I am not sure what I will do with the umbrella – but I will definitely smile everytime I open it up! THANKS FOR ALL YOUR GREAT DEALS AND ADVICE.

I went to Rite Aid on Sunday and used the 2 coupons with no problem with an assistant manager. I went again the next day and she said I could not use both coupons at once. I went to another Rite Aid today and the cashier had no problem using both coupons. It is a good idea to use the $5 off first and then the $25 off coupon. I like to have the market umbrella but none to be found. These will shade the pool area well and look good too. Does anyone know where these coupons were found?

The cashier paid me $0.01 too. The manager stood there and OK’d it. We were all tripping out! It was fun :)

I just got back from my Rite Aid and got the last market umbrella they had. They only let me use the 25$ off coupon so it was 13.78 after tax. Still a great price for a 9 ft umbrella!

We have two Rite Aids in town and since there is only two of us we decided if we each went to each store we could still get 4 umbrellas. Awesome deal, I shared it with my whole family and now we all have awesome umbrellas for our yards. Thanks!

I posted this morning that the closest Rite Aid to me wouldn’t take the coupons without marking the hula umbrella up to reg. price. The other local Rite Aid took it with no questions asked, just kind of a second glance. LOL! I ended up getting a Suave deodorant, Snickers bar and the umbrella for 2.06 by using coupons for everything ( free chocolate coupon!) and will get a 1.49 ( I think that’s right?) SCR for the deodorant. So .57 for all!

    I’m in Georgia.

I had to go to three different Rite Aids. The first one ran out. The second one, the lady was not being cooperative at all. This was because the coupon specifically states that the umbrella was $39.99 and is down to $14.99 after the $25 coupon. So I went the next Rite Aid, that the first store I went to recommended. The asst mgr said the same thing about the $14.99 thing… but after like 5 minutes of arguing (why would Rite Aid give out a coupon and then have those umbrellas go on sale – just doesn’t make sense!).. the store manager then came and told her to just ring it up because they get reimbursed anyway. I also used the $5 off. And the Trident there is BOGO so I used the $1 off coupon on off the Trident website.

I got the hula umbrella and 2 packs of Trident for a grand total of $0.55. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Let me tell you, that cashier was MAAAAD. (but the people behind me were on my side too :)

I tried and they wanted to charge me $17 with the tax. They are going on sale for $14.99 tomorrow and it just wasn’t worth it even if I had enough to use the $5 off. I had the BOGO candy bars and coupons and the manager just wasn’t happy about the coupons for the candy, so you can imagine how ticked she was with the umbrella. Perhaps the umbrella will still be there this weekend with another markdown. Oh, well. I hope they have another $5 off $25 in July.

Just wanted to say THANKS SO MUCH Tara! Didn’t think it would work for me because I have no luck with getting the “nice” cashier – but it worked and I snagged the last 3 they had just about an hour ago! Paid .33 each! Woo hoo – I finally get a deal. Thanks again, love love love your site.

I went to the only one in my town and the manager said that I couldn’t get $25 off the sale price that I could only get it (9ft) for $24.99 and they didn’t have any hulu ones left. My sister-in-law got both at another one today, so good for her.

I got the “I love my job” cashier and the manager who wouldn’t budge. They said the $25 off was only for retail price of $ 39.99. I argued that it’s Rite Aids fault for putting them on sale and then issuing a coupon! We weren’t cheating anyone, just using what they gave us!

Oh well. Comgrats to all who scored one!

Thank you for posting this incredible deal Tara! I absolutely love your site! There were about 6 hula umbrellas in our local store here in PA when I went in to snag one. The cashier had no problem taking both coupons off, although I did follow the advice of presenting the 5 off 25 first and then the umbrella coupon after that. The subtotal on the receipt was -.01, the tax was .30, which means I only paid .29! Unbelievable!

Only one out of three Rite Aids in my area had any hula umbrellas, so I only got one. I brought a couple rebates items at the same time so my total wouldn’t be basically tax.
As for where the coupons came from, an email from Rite Aid.

Checked my email this evening and saw this deal. I figured that they would be all gone by the time i got there. The first store didn’t have any left . Tried another and they were all sold out of the hulas but had five of the market umbrellas. The cashier said he didn’t think I would be able to use the $5 off $25 but he would try it and it worked!!! total was $8.71 including tax. I got two and i called my sister and friend to tell them about the deal and they snatched the others up !!!!! thanks so much!!!!!
