Consumer Recall: Walmart Marketside Grab and Go Sandwiches

walmart recallI usually post recalls on Fridays, but this one seemed too important to wait.

Zemco Industries has recalled approximately 380,000 pounds of deli meat that may be contaminated with listeria, a bacteria that can cause a potentially fatal disease and is especially dangerous for pregnant women, infants, the elderly and anyone with a compromised immune system.

This meat was used in Walmart Marketside Grab and Go sandwiches, including the following varieties:

  • Black Forest Ham
  • Hot Ham, Hard Salami, Pepperoni and Sandwich Peppers
  • Virginia Brand Ham with Bacon, Sandwich Pickles and Peppers
  • Angus Roast Beef

The packages bear the vendor number “398412808” and the USDA mark of inspection and have various “Use By” dates ranging from August 20 to September 10, 2010.

It’s important to note that there are no reported illnesses from consumption of these sandwiches, and the recall is just a precautionary measure.

The press release does not include information on a refund, but I’m assuming you can return the sandwiches to your local store for a refund.

Target: Hot $1/2 Dr. Pepper Printable

Head to Coupons.com and keep your eyes peeled for a very hot Dr. Pepper 12-Pack printable that is good only at Target.  It will appear in a banner like the one above either below or beside the standard coupons.  Just click on it to print yours, but keep in mind that some of these are printing as a $1/1 Dr. Pepper 12-Pack printable and others are printing as $1/2 Dr. Pepper 12-Pack printable.

Once you’ve printed yours, another one will become available for Dr. Pepper 2-liters, but again these are printing in several different denominations for different users, including $0.25/1, $0.75/2 and $0.50/1.

Just scroll through the coupons to refresh the screen and change the banners until it appears. This coupon is appearing in various regions at different times, so if it doesn’t show up, don’t fret; it may appear on another day!
