Kmart Deals: Super Doubles and Super Triples

April 19, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 46 Comments

kmartThe much talked about Kmart Super Double/Super Triple event is here!

You can check out the double coupons list and the triple coupons list here on Deal Seeking Mom to see if your store is participating, or you can view your ad online at Kmart.com. However, please be aware that the listing at Kmart.com was not accurate for many areas last time.

Terms of the event:

  • KMart will be offering super double coupons at participating locations and triple coupons at select stores April 19-25.
  • Stores participating in super double coupons will double coupons with a value up to $2.
  • Stores participating in triple coupons will triple coupons with a value up to $0.75 and double coupons with a value up to $4.
  • There’s a limit of 25 coupons per customer per day.

Tips for organizing your shopping trip:

  • Leave the kids at home so you’re not distracted.
  • Keep your transaction small. Plan to buy all of the items you have coupons for together.
  • Compile a running list of the prices as you’re shopping.
  • Watch carefully as coupons are scanned to make sure they’re doubled/tripled correctly.
  • Check your receipt when you get to your car. Any adjustments can be made much more easily now than later.

Here’s just a few of my faves from the extensive list that Mercedes at Common Sense with Money put together. This doesn’t even scratch the surface, so be sure to check out her site too!

I tried to use a coupon for 1.50 off of wipes (doubled it would be $3 off) that were marked at 2.99 but the cashier wouldn’t take it. She said the ad clearly states that the doubled coupon amount couldn’t be larger than the retail price of the item. Boo!

At my KMarts coupons double up to the item price. So a $1.50 coupon on a $2.99 item rings up as $1.50 plus another $1.49 off. That’s the way it’s supposed to work. Sorry your store was a pain. I even had a $3 coupon for a $2.50 item and they gave me the whole $3 off.

In my ad, it also says that the double value cannot exceed the value of the product. I am afraid of going and nothing working if it is supposed to be free or a money maker. any tips? also, if a coupon says “do not double” do they stick to that?
    thanks!

At my local Kmart, on a $3.49 item, I had a $2 off coupon. They scanned the coupon and the “doubling” automatically went on my receipt for $1.49 off so that it was free.
Also, I followed the link for the baby wipes and it only came up as a $.50 off coupon.

Suzette, the Huggies Bath & Body coupon is valid on wipes. I guess I should specify that in the deal. Thanks for pointing it out!

I was wondering if anyone is having any luck using printable coupons in the Columbus, OH area Kmart stores? I have a bunch and don’t want to waste my time getting the items and standing in line just to find out they don’t honor them. Thanks in advance for any information!

Unless I’ve got the wrong Q, the printable Huggies diapers Q for $1.50/1 says “excludes jumbo pack” which is what is on sale for $9.99, so that deal won’t work. There were some mailers sent out, however that had $1.50/1 Q with no exclusions (don’t have but saw on Ebay). Please let me know if I’m wrong. (I hope I am cause this cheap mamma’s baby needs diapers tomorrow!)

Oh, darn, you’re right, Laurie. That’s odd – I don’t think I’ve ever seen them do that before. If you can get multiple copies of today’s insert, there was the $1.50/1 in it.

Unfortunately, no Huggies Qs in my Sunday paper this week. And the in-home mailer we got in this area had the $3/2 Q. It’s a sad day in IA… but at least we HAVE the double coupon days this time!

I am so excited this is all new to me and I went to Double Coupons at KMART and I bought 2 dry idea deoderant , 1 right guard deoderant, 4 cans pringles, 3 single stride gums, 1 soft soap, 3 Trail mix crunch cereal, 2 pkgs huggies 64 ct. wipes, 4 pkgs pupperoni dog treats, 2 V-8 Fusion juices, and had I used the $5 off of $50 I would have made it under $2 but as a beginner I missed that and spent $6.51.
Thanks for all the help and I hope to get much better.

In central FL, my Kmart was great. Went to Sebring, FL and Winter Haven, FL. Both stores took my coupons up to the sales price.
My Halls Cough Drops were on sale for $1.37 a package. I had $.75 coupons. The register automatically took .75, then .62. Nothing to it. But NO TRIPLES!!! We’re so sad about that.

I went to two different Kmarts (one was a super K with grocery) and did very well on so MANY items.
One fav was the Biore skin product. Kmart had buy one get one half price then I had 2 of the $2 coupons that doubled so ended up getting the 2 bottles for about $1.80!! the $2 off coupons are in the Kmart booklet of manufacturer coupons they gave out at register. WOOOT!
We had no triples in NW Ohio but they did do the rounding and did not reject coupons. Had 2 very nice cashiers .
Thanks Tara for all the help and fun you make of this savings :)

I went close to closing last night and 7 of my coupons didn’t double, I still got half off, but they told me if I came back they would work something out.

Also the V8 coupon is only good for the two new flavors, my kmart didn’t have the new flavors so cashier told me I was out of luck!

Went back shopping today in Peru Illinois and was bummed I had 2 seperate orders totally over $50 and handed in the $5 off of $50 and wasn’t given the $5 off due to all the other coupons following.
Peru says it can’t be used iwht all the other coupons. So lost out on $10 in savings and they missed another $10 in coupons to be taken off. So really watch and check to make sure you actually did get the $5. My receipt said I did but after going back to cutomer service they had to admit I didn’t. But I still saved and will be more watchful. Thanks to Tara and all who are showing me the way to save money.

Tara, I can’t begin to thank you enough. I’ve only been couponing for a month and what I’ve learned from you via this blog has truly been life changing! I hope your realize what a positive impact you have on the quality of life for so many families! Today at K-Mart they missed 3 of my $2 off Qs somehow while checking out and because I did just what you said (keep a running total as you shop, check your receipt when you get to your car), I was easily able to reconcile the problem within minutes of it happening. And I approached the customer service desk with all the confidence in the world because of what I’ve learned here. Thank you again for this amazing blog and all your hard work!

when kmart means they are doubling does that mean you have to use two coupons for each item you buy.

my second question? if you have a 2.oo off coupon and something cost 3.99
and it doubles will it double to 4.00 off so that product will be FREE.
this is if my kmart is doubling coupons up to 2.00 !
and my kmart is doubling coupons up to 2.00!

Ilja, you only need one coupon per item. If an item s $3.99 and has a $2 coupon, then you will have $3.99 deducted. Kmart doesn’t give overage. Hope yours has the double coupons!
