Giveaway: Spring Cleaning with Arm & Hammer and Electrolux (6 Winners!)

April 13, 2010 by Deal Seeking Mom

The following review is from the Deal Seeking Mom project administrator, Mandi Ehman:

As the weather gets warmer, spring cleaning is on a lot of people’s minds and Arm & Hammer and Electrolux want to help Deal Seeking Mom readers tackle this big project with products that make cleaning easier and our homes healthier.

Arm & Hammer

We’re all familiar with the orange box of Arm & Hammer baking soda which naturally reduces household odors in refrigerators, pantries and trashcans and can be used as a natural cleaning agent, but Arm & Hammer also has a line of cleaning products that use the power of baking soda to help you tackle specific cleaning jobs around your home, including:

  • Arm & Hammer Clean Shower
  • Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Shaker
  • Arm & Hammer Scrub Free Cleanser
  • Arm & Hammer Carpet & Fabric Odor Eliminator
  • Arm & Hammer Essentials Trigger Spray
  • Arm & Hammer Trash Can Deodorizer
  • Arm & Hammer Fabric Softener Sheets

In addition, Arm & Hammer vacuum bags and filters are allergist recommended and offer HEPA filtration, which keeps 99.97% of small particles like dust, pollen and pet dander from being re-introduced into the air. With more than 120 different styles of vacuum accessories, there are Arm & Hammer filters for nearly all brands and models of vacuum cleaners.

Electrolux

Our family has always been a huge fan of Electrolux appliances, and we recently bought our first Electrolux vacuum, the Electrolux ErgoRapido Bagless/Cordless Stick Vacuum, which we love for daily vacuuming to keep up with the crumbs and dirt that our four girls seem to create.

So when Electrolux offered us the opportunity to try the Electrolux Versatility bagless/upright model, we were excited to see if it would live up to the standard set by the stick vacuum. It’s hard for us to find a vacuum that works well on our hand-crafted custom wood floors without scratching them up, but we were hopeful this would do the trick while providing us with more cleaning power than the stick vacuum or our resident Shop Vac.

The box arrived, and my husband immediately unpacked it and began vacuuming, and it really did live up to our expectations. The innovative handle quickly releases a telescoping wand system that reaches up to 14 feet. We’ve rarely used vacuum attachments in the past because of the extra work of hooking them up or switching power to the wand, but this process is automatic in the Versatility, making it easy to quickly dust a high shelf, vacuum hair off the couch or clean up crumbs in the snack drawer.

Additionally, the Versatility vacuum offers:

  • A three-stage cyclonic suction system that separates most of the dirt from the air before it reaches the filter, so the filter stays clean and the vacuum retains maximum cleaning power.
  • A bottom-empty dust cup to make emptying it easy.
  • A HEPA filter that removes 99.97% of small particles from the air while vacuuming and includes charcoal technology to absorb and eliminate odors.
  • Quick and easy switching from hard floor to carpet mode, making it easy to vacuum your entire home.

Yes, the sunshine and spring air always get me in the mood to freshen up the house and yard. Over the winter my son liked to help me clean the interior windows…I bet he’ll love using the hose to rinse off the outside! I’m sure I’ll end up getting pretty soaked. : )

We are in the thick of spring cleaning at my house. We decided this was the year to declutter as well, so I’m not so sure it’s looking better yet with all the bags of stuff to giveaway piled everywhere!

I dread having to dust the walls! We have vaulted ceilings & ceiling fans that are high up. Last year we had to rent a ladder from Home Depot just to get the rafters, we’re doing it again this year. The heater tends to bring in more dust during the winter months than the AC during the summer months! Thank you for sharing this cool giveaway with us.

Our big project this year for spring cleaning is cleaning out the garage! We have 3 years of accumulation of junk, along with my husband and I’s college stuff and childhood stuff to sift through. Of course, there is also the usual washing windows and blinds, touching up paint inside the house, and scrubbing the deck and porch.
