As you can imagine, laundry is a never-ending chore around here with five active kids. all® Small & Mighty® laundry detergent is one of my preferred brands, and I love the convenience the new 96-load bottle. Of course it doesn’t last anywhere close to six months around here, but I appreciate the ease of dispensing it and its stain-fighting capabilities!
Two Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a coupon for a free bottle of all® Small & Mighty® 3x Concentrate (up to $6.50)! These would be great to hold onto until the next BOGO sale at CVS so that you can get TWO free bottles of detergent!
To enter, leave me a comment with your best money-saving laundry tip.
Here’s a little tip from me to you — I can generally find a better price on the smaller bottles of All Small & Mighty, so I save my larger 96-load bottle and refill it with them!

My money saving laundry tip is I add vinegar to my laundry after lst rinse leaves my clothes soft and fresh.

I use cold water for all my washing and cut dryer sheets in half for twice as many uses per box. Also be sure to check the mfg. use instructions for the amount of detergent to use…. after doing lots of laundry for years I realized lately that I was using way more detergent that the mfg recommends so I have cut back on the smount and my detergent last lots longer. I guess you are never too old to learn!!!!!

My best money saving laundry tip is that I don’t dry anything that can be hung up. This saves energy and at least a dollar a load (we go to Laundromat).
I don’t skimp on detergent but the way I save on buying it is buy stocking up when there is a sale. Our stores don’t double anymore but I’ve been using my stock pile from when they did for almost a year. I bought tons of liquid detergent for .50 each and have been using it every since which as saved a lot of money.

Use less! It doesn’t take as much as the companies want you to think it does!

I use white vinegar in the place of fabric softener. Also, wash everything but towels in cold water.

When you’ve got a piece of clothing that could bleed – such as a red shirt – soak it in white distilled vinegar for an hour or so before washing. The vinegar sets the color so the color shouldn’t transfer to your other clothes. To test to see if it worked – soak in vinegar, rinse, then soak again in water. If the water changes color – soak again in vinegar.

I usually try to find the best price especially now with coupons on my laundry, getting the trial size helps out too.. for those freebies. I also tear my fabric softner sheets in half to get them to last longer.

Friends I know with large families wash each persons clothes separate so there is no need to sort the laundry while folding and putting away!

I use cold water for most of my washes and on the weekends I hang out all my sheets and towels to dry to save electricity.
TARA!
I designated Sunday and Thursday as laundry days in our house. I know by only doing laundry on those days I am guaranteed full loads. And I reuse dryer sheets on as many loads as possible.
Thanks for the great offer!

I use cold water for everything. I have a line in my basement and a rack to hang clothes on. I usually dont use as much detergent as it says to do and I cut my dryer sheets in half.

Instead of buying dryer sheets we use tennis balls. Believe it or not they work just as well!!! :)

I exclusively use this laundry detergent to save $… I have baby that has sensetive skin and this is much better then Dreft.

I love using all the free trial size detergents! Just about the time I’m running low on my stash-BINGO!-another round of Q’s appear in the inserts! I always wash in cold water.
Another thing I’ve learned-I throw the shower curtain liner in with a load of towels periodically to keep it fresh and mold-free, although the Scrubbing Bubbles helps a great deal with that as well :)

I use cold water for pretty much all of my laundry. Works just fine even with my baby’s stains.
