As you can imagine, laundry is a never-ending chore around here with five active kids. all® Small & Mighty® laundry detergent is one of my preferred brands, and I love the convenience the new 96-load bottle. Of course it doesn’t last anywhere close to six months around here, but I appreciate the ease of dispensing it and its stain-fighting capabilities!
Two Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a coupon for a free bottle of all® Small & Mighty® 3x Concentrate (up to $6.50)! These would be great to hold onto until the next BOGO sale at CVS so that you can get TWO free bottles of detergent!
To enter, leave me a comment with your best money-saving laundry tip.
Here’s a little tip from me to you — I can generally find a better price on the smaller bottles of All Small & Mighty, so I save my larger 96-load bottle and refill it with them!

I water down my detergent. Also use a line outside, when it’s warm, to dry.

My dryer broke (it was free to begin with) so I got 3 drying racks from a resale shop and now I line dry all clothes in our house. 2 adults and 1 infant (almost toddler) (and a dog). I even line dry sheets over curtain rods. I save money and save the enviroment.

I try to run as many loads at night when electricity costs less. Plus we try to air dry as much as possible on a line

This doesn’t work for most people, but it does for us–I try to save up my laundry until we housesit or visit family, so that I don’t have to pay $4 a load at our apartments’ laundry room! Also, if I HAVE to use the laundry room, I only run the dryer once and then hang up the laundry around the apartment to let it finish drying.

I use coupons and match them up with great sales. I also love the dryer balls!
Laura
I cut my dryer sheets in half so that the box lasts twice as long!

I use vinegar instead of fabric softener and cold water for everything but bedding which is done in hot to kill dust mites. All is our favorite detergent.
Jessie
I always run full loads and air-dry when possible. With the wet summer we’ve had here in NJ it hasn’t been possible much lately :P

I don’t have the space (or the climate, much of the year) to line dry outside. But I take the heavier things out of the dryer load – towels, jeans, etc. – and hang them around the house to air dry. The remainder of the load dries much faster!
Sarah
I wash most of my clothes in cold water.

Laundry is never ending here either. This would be awesome to win!

I use my dryer sheets more than once. They still smell good and work just fine on a second pass: trust me!

My best money saving laundry tips are to wash your clothes in cold water to save on energy costs, and of course, coupons!!

My best money saver is to reuse my dryer sheets for 2 loads. But now I have some really great tips to try. Thanks for the great site!

I have started adding 1 cup of vinegar into the wash. It allows me to reduce the amount of detergent that I use and my clothes have never been fresher, softer, or cleaner. Living in the south it is easy for my laundry to sour – especially our towels. The vinegar breaks down that sour smell and leaves the clothes without any scent at all (unless I use scented laundry soap or dryer bars.) I have an empty 96 load container that I fill with a 1 gal. container of vinegar and that way I don’t have to pour from the large vinegar container each load. The acid in vinegar also kills bacteria and viruses so I can wash in cold water and know my laundry is getting clean.

I buy my laundry detergent when it is on sale BOGO and then apply 2 coupons to the sale. This way I can get them so cheap and stock up too.
I line dry as much laundry as possible both outdoors and in the attic space.

I’m not brand loyal-I’ll wash with anything that smells good! :)
