Walmart Dress Your Student Challenge

Yeah, so I exceeded my budget just a tad, but my oldest boys are thrilled at the additions to their back-to-school wardrobe! We don’t have hand-me-downs since they’ve worn the same size for as long as I can remember (they’re 12 months apart), so I’m thrilled at how these savings have stretched our clothing budget.

My daughter is only 2, so I don’t have to worry about back to school shopping quite yet, but all of the recent sales at Walgreens and Staples would be a great way to stock up on very cheap or even free back to school items, thanks!

My kids can pick out whatever clothes they want…as long as it’s at a thrift store or yard sale. Sometimes even clearance sales cost too much. This Wal-Mart deal looks really good. Now if I just had $50…..

I try to find good deals on end of season sales. If I’m lucky I can get a lot of inexpensive items for the following season

We are really hurting this year due to unemployment so the only thing I can say is if its not on sale we don’t buy it. I even check the clearance table at Party City because I find some good school supplies in their birthday party goodies getting a 10 pack of items at 75% off. Can’t beat that! Thank you!

My back to school savings tip is to shop the Clearance racks all year round. If you find a great deal, buy “up” in a larger size your child will grow into, and maybe even buy several sizes and/or colors if the Clearance discount is amazing! This works for everything from Halloween costumes, to coats, and swimsuits, etc. Think ahead of the season for the next year and you’ll be amazed at how much you can save. Happy shopping – and saving!

I save money when making school lunches by not buying small packages of food. We use either ziplock bags that i wash out and reuse or reusable bowls to hold snacks and food in.

I always shop the clearance racks for clothing year round. Usually if it is not on clearance we don’t buy it. There are always some really great deals out there right now. I also look year round for clearance sales on school supplies, and pick them up when I find them. That way it is not such a budget buster when school starts.
