We don’t have hand-me-downs since they’ve worn the same size for as long as I can remember (they’re 12 months apart), so I’m thrilled at how these savings have stretched our clothing budget.

My best advice is to make sure you plan out your clothes shopping and then wait till tax free weekends and buy it all at once. Thanks! thebubbledies(at)gmail(dot)com

Shop re-sale stores, that way the kids can have the brands they love at prices you will love.

I buy off of the clearance racks most of the time. For school supplies, I stock up after everything goes on clearance and then if there is something that is needed for the new school year, I’ll wait until after school has already started (after items are marked down)to buy it since they usually don’t use most of their supplies right away anyway.

When school shopping I watch for all the sales and stock up for the school year with them. I also watch for sales on clothes and food as well.

I always go to Target about 3 weeks after school has started. All of there school supplies including backpacks and lunchboxes are 75% off. I get as many school supplies that I know my kids will need for the following year then. The backpacks and lunchboxes are usually only around $3-$4.
    Thanks,
    Bobbie

I shop at the hugh consignment sale each fall and spring. I get great deals on clothes and all the things kids need. I also buy at then end of the season for the next year… and we get great hand me downs from cousins.

To save money I look for all of the “deals” on back to school things, then I let my kids shop from the box of great deals and ONLY then do I go back out and buy anything else we need.

I buy most of my children’s clothes on clearance at the end of the season. I bought 6 pairs of shorts for my daughter for 97 cents at Kohls last fall. I have also been using coupons and sales flyers to plan grocery purchases for lunches, I’m amazed at how much I save. I just started a few months ago but with only a little bit of effort I’m saving about $20 a week.

Hello, I started super couponing last Oct not knowing that all the savings grocery shopping/clothes shopping would come in very handy..I’m a SAHM of 2 boys and my husband lost his job about 2 months ago. I need to shop smart. I’m looking for clearance sales!

I always buy clothes when they are clearanced at the end of the season for the following one. Then I just fill in with what is left when the school year comes.

I love to shop for my boys at Target or Walmart. When you can find great deals at the stores and put a great outfit together for not alot of money, I feel a sense of accomplishment. And of course them being boys, if it gets destroyed or too dirty and ragged, its not as bad with the outfit not being so expensive.

My friends and I decided to get together and see what we could trade. My daughter needed a specific calculator this year and one of my friends daughter had it last year so we took it- next year my other friends daughter will need the same calculator so we will give it to her- this saved us $89.00. Each time someone uses it. All of us also buy extras of items we see in the store and trade with each other- last week I purchased poster board for .10, my friend purchased at her store which I don’t have in my area pens for.15, I will also be packing my daughters lunch this year which is healthy and also cheaper- We go to Sam’s Club , my friends and I make a list then I go and purchase- we then split up all the items and cost – this saves us all so much money to buy in bulk.

I only buy what is on sale and I try to wait for a coupon also to use on top of the sale. For school supplies I try to see what store has what for .01 and try to stock up that way even if they do not need the supplies yet that way I have them when we need them.
