I have saved money this year for back to school by shopping Walgreens and paying attention to the baragains they offer. With a teenage daughter, make-up is a back to school essential, and I’ve been able to get hers for next to nothing.

My best budget tip for saving on back to school supplies is to shop the sales. I love to take advantage of those free deals at CVS and roll my ECB’s each week into the new school supplies deals to get the most bang for my buck. I would love to take the Walmart Challenge!

I’m another advocate of the “shop early/use coupons/bargain hunt” theory. That’s the best way I’ve found to stay on a back to school budget.

We save money by buying are kids clothes and supplies at walmart. They always have the cheaper prices for the most part. I picked up a few summer clothes for next year for my kids since the prices are so cheap at the moment. Try to buy out of season as it’s the best way to get everything cheap.

My back to school shopping strategy is to shop early and when I go into staples for school supplies, i only buy the things that are on sale. As far as clothes go, I have found shopping Kohl’s clearance racks is a great way to get nice shirts/ sweaters for $5-10 each. I sure hope I win the gift card!

My best strategy for saving money is to use gift cards that I have earned throughout the year through the Mypoints program and watch the sales.

Luckily, my son’s school gives them all the supplies they need. For clothing, I shop year round. I keep an eye out for great off season clearance prices and shop thrift stores. I also make sure that my son wears “play clothes” when he plays, not school clothes.

Make a list of needs and wants. Buy the needs on sale and search for the wants online to find the best price.

I try to shop year round. I look for items on sale and I try to buy a bigger size so it will fit the next school year. I always look for coupons also. That saves a lot.

This is so great! My two boys are 7 years apart but the great thing is my oldest is small and my 5 year old can wear his old stuff. I buy every year for my 12 year old and the following year my youngest can wear it. I save so much that way. The pants that have holes I buy cool patches that my kids like and iron them on. The ones that are really bad I cut and make shorts. I also use coupons for almost everything I buy that way I have a little extra for my kids during school. thanks

I make a list of clothes and sizes that I need to purchase, along with school supplies. I look all summer long for sales and purchase them then. Try to always keep my eyes open for sales and clearance on school supplies that can be put away for a later time.

When it comes to food, we always buy in bulk, there are 5 people in our household and it helps out on the budget significantly! Thanks for the chance!

the most $$ thing we buy on 1 single item is backpacks so I usually wait get some backpacks and lunch bags @ target when they go 75% off. Last BTS I paid less than $5 each for super thick backpacks that my kids are using this BTS. I usually buy something that wont go out of style like for my 5 year old I bought him spiderman. He is popular every year. My daughter who is 9 I usually buy her any cutsy kind. I stay away from movie themes lime camp rock, bc the following year, it isnt cool anymore! lol

I always stock up on seasonal clearance items. I just get a larger size that way they can wear it for next year.

For school supplies, I buy them when they put them on sale and I stock up on them and use some for the following year. Clothes, I buy some off season and some when they have the state tax free weekend. Other items that I know are going to cost a little more, like shoes and clothes, I search online to see where I can get the best buy at.
