Earth month is winding down now, but I’ve got a huge giveaway that will help you maintain your green efforts long beyond just this month. Included in this giveaway are the following items:
- Bissell Little Green Machine
- Clorox Greenworks Cleaners
- White Cloud Recycled Paper Towels and Toilet Paper
- Brita Water Filter Pitcher
- Tide Cold Water Detergent – not pictured
I had the opportunity to try these products out myself, and I’ve been very pleased with all of them. I think of all of them, the Bissell Little Green Machine is my favorite because it makes cleaning up all of those little kid and pet messes so easy and convenient. The most surprising would be the White Cloud recycled paper towels and toilet paper. I was suprised by how soft they were!
How can you win?

I have two sets of reusable bags. One for car and one at home..so that we dont miss it when we have a surprise stop for grocery.
I always use plastic bags (older ones before i started using reusable bags) as my trash can liners.
I always give away things which i dont use anymore but are good in condition at Craigslist-Free Items. Dont want to fill landfills anymore.
Try not to buy much stuff (clothing or anything) that i dont really need even if i like it. Saves money and makes life simple. Simple life lets u enjoy what u already have. Saves packing and wastage. This is my idea of saving our planet :)

Some of my favorite green tips are:
1) Make my own household cleaners using ingredients such as: bleach, baking soda, vinegar
2) For the first time I have started a container garden this year with tomatoes, zucchini, basil and sage. I plant to start other veggies soon. I also just planted a rhuarb plant in my backyard!
3) I always use canvas bags at the grocery store and recycle all my recyclables

One word: vinegar. I use it for everything! I keep a spray bottle half vinegar and half water, and that’s my everyday cleaner (I’ll also use baking soda if something’s cooked on: scrub with baking soda or put on baking soda, spray with the vinegar solution, watch the fun bubbles and then wipe it all clean). I also use vinegar along with my dishsoap to help with grease and as fabric softner in my laundry. The stuff is pure magic.

Not only am I going greener in our home, but I am teaching my children to do so as well. We use tote bags for shopping, recycle everything that we possible can, drive when only necessary, and to use water/electricity in moderation. We also take a weekly walk in the ditches by our place and pick up garbage…what a good feeling to know we are doing all we can!
