Tune in all week for hot Back-To-School Giveaways. We’ve got some great prizes for the kids, with a couple of special prizes to pamper mom!!! Look for a new 48-hour giveaway each morning and each afternoon, and be sure to check out all of the current giveaways for other great prizes!
There’s no doubt that being a mom is a hard job – the hardest job there is! And while the rewards are absolutely worth it, I’ve teamed up with Jamie from Circle of Sentiments to offer you something a little more tangible this week!
Isn’t this necklace that she created for me gorgeous? I opted to go with the first initials for all of my kids since some of the longer names wouldn’t fit on the small size discs that I selected. I was a little skeptical of how the finished product would turn out with so many discs, but I absolutely LOVE it.
I’m so impressed with the quality and craftmanship, and when I wore my necklace to Blogher, and I received dozens of compliments on it while I was there. It’s quickly become one of my favorite accessories, and I always wear it when I travel as a reminder of my kiddos.
One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a custom necklace with up to two discs from Jamie’s Signature Collection, valued at $65!
To enter, simply leave a comment and tell me about your most rewarding moment as a mother.
Jamie is also offering Deal Seeking Mom readers 20% off their Circle of Sentiments’ orders using coupon code dsm at checkout. Be sure to check out all of her beautiful collections to take advantage of this offer!

Everyday is rewarding but you can’t help but melt when they say “I love you Mommy.”
Kathleen
There is nothing better than getting a hug, kiss and “I Love You Mom”.
Erin
The first time they smile at you and the first time they say “Mom” (or in my case “Momomomom.”)

The day my third grader ran over to me when he saw me during recess, hugged me, kissed me, and said “Hi mom!” In front of EVERYONE!!! I was cool enough to be his mom in front of everyone that day.

my oldest is starting kindergarten this year. he really wanted a G.I. Joe backpack that had twinkle lights on it, but santa just got him a Batman backpack this past Christmas. i had a heart-to-heart with him and he agreed to go G.I. Joe for lunch pack instead. when we got into the car he said “mom, just wanted to let you know that i love you and thank you very much for the lunch pack. i know why i couldn’t get the backpack and that’s okay because i still got something i liked”. man did i feel good – i’m doing something right as a mom!

I love it when they pat my back or check on me and tell me they love me, tells me they learned something good from me!

The most rewarding part of being a mother is to see my little boy growing up to be a little man. He is 9 years old and just started 4th grade this year. He asked me if it was ok to call me Mom instead of Mommy in front of his friends the other day, and I had to hold back tears :(( It’s so hard to let them grow up and know that what we teach them now they will carry with them forever. He has taught me SO MUCH about love. I don’t know what my husband or I ever did without our little man! I know that one day he’s going to spread his little wings and fly….

My daughter is 2-years-old, and so far my most rewarding experience was the time she came to me and signed “Me hungry. Apple drink?” I have been teaching my daughter sign language to help her express her wants and feelings, and this was the moment it began to pay off. Later that day, I told her she had to eat a good meal before she could have jelly beans, and she signed “Me angry!” with an angry look on her face. I nearly died laughing, but luckily I contained myself and taught her how to say the verbal word for angry.

The best thing for me is that my 16 and 12 yr old girls say “love u” as they run out the door or dash off to where ever they need to be. :) Still makes me smile!

I’m not a mom, but I became an aunt to twin nieces last September and I never thought I would love anything as much as I love these 2 little babies. I cried when I saw them for the first time. I live 2 hours away from them so I only see them a couple times a month, but everytime I see them and they greet me with their big smiles, it’s the best feeling in the world. The most rewarding thing so far is that everytime I see them I tell them something about my father (their grandfather) who died when I was 16 and my brother was 21. I know how proud he would be to see them and I want to remind them of that – even though they aren’t aware of it quite yet.

My most rewarding moment as a mother is when my 2 1/2 year old asks to pray for his friends when I tell him they are sad/hurt/etc…I love that he knows that we pray for others when they need help. I love his compassionate heart!

My most rewarding moments are when teachers, coworkers, friends and aquaintances compliment me on how polite, well-behaved and helpful my sons are.

I have had many rewarding moments in my 14 years of mothering, but recently my oldest son told me that he was afraid he’d never be able to “get a girlfriend” because “none of the girls in my school are like you, Mom”. Coming from my not-overly-emotional, tough, athletic guy, I was truly touched. Teenagers can actually surprise you in a GOOD way :)

Wow, I would so love to wear this necklace!!! I can’t think of anything more special than having my son wrap his arms around me and tell me he loves me. (even if he is up to something)lol……

Getting my son through all of the difficulties of ADHD and OCD and still grow up to be the absolutely wonderful man he became.
