My tip is I never take laundry out of the dryer unless I am ready to fold it, I hate wrinkles so if it sits in the dryer for a couple of days I just put on fluff and no wrinkles. I also have my kids help put away their own laundry, my 8year old and my 4 year old are perfectly capable(we are not looking for perfection here just getting the job done to the best of his ability!!)

Just do a load every other day so it does not build up!

I treat stains right when they happen. My husband does the rest.

I hang dry almost everything! I have wooden racks made by the Amish (bought years ago) and have pipes hung from wall to wall allowing a large area in my basement to do this. It saves us money and energy – that alone to me is less of a burden on me and my family.

I cut all my dryer sheets in half and have never noticed any difference between using a whole sheet and half sheet.

I save money on laundry needs by buying on sale with coupons. I pretreat stains and turn clothing with any writing or designs inside out to help prevent fading. I fold clothes right out of the dryer. Ironing is one of my BIG dislikes!

I use the $1 off coupons for brands that I don’t normally buy to get the sample size detergents for free.

I hang my laundry outside in the summer and inside in my basement during the winter months. My husband put in a wood pellet stove in the basement to help with heating costs and he put a retractable clothesline up close to the pellet stove, so my clothes dry fast and I am not running up the electric bill running the dryer for hours.

I’m trying to complete finish a load a day instead of having it all pile up – you think you’re getting it done really slowly, but at least it’s getting done, right?

With a family of 6, I try to do at least 1 load of laundry every day so it doesn’t pile up too high. Luckily most of our clothes have been washed enough that I can do lights, darks, and mediums. Then again, if I throw everything together, nothing bleeds anymore.

I always put a load of laundry in the washer or dryer at night just before going to bed when energy use is at its lowest and the hot water tank is full.

I save money by stocking up on detergents when I have coupons and a great sale!

I’m a subscriber. I only run the dryver at night so the house doesn’t get hot during the day because our laundry room is in the kitchen. And I also cut dryer sheets in half. They work just the same as a whole one.

I keep 4 laundry baskets in the laundry room (if you have front loaders, you can put these on top of the machines)….then I can quickly throw laundry that accumulates around the house into these baskets. Mine are WHITES, LIGHTS, DARKS, TOWELS/BEDDING. Then when you take your laundry from the bedrooms into the laundry rooms it makes sorting easier. HTH

I buy detergent when it’s on sale for BOGO plus I stack the sale with coupons. I usually only spend $2 or less on detergent!

I find that I can stretch out the laundry products by using less which is also better for the environment. You just sort of have to test out your loads to see how much works for you.

I do laundry everyday so it doesn’t pile up on me and get overwelming. I also always check for the cheapest prices which includes checking how much per oz a laundry detergent costs.
