I use borax, baking soda, and /or oxiclean and mix it with my laundry detergent, i prefer arm and hammer, but will make my own with ivory soap at times. shout is wonderful for my sons baby stains and I always soak his clothes in water and vinegar solution before I wash them to help get out stains

I mix fabric softener with water & use a spray bottle to apply it to a rag I throw in the dryer – I get less static, a nice scent, and don’t break the bank – while still being able to choose about any scent/brand I want because I’m stretching it. Thanks!

I hate doing laundry and i am the only one in the house that does it! I dont mind washing and drying but folding and putting away is a pain for me! I usually dont even have to money to buy laundry detergent so I usually use dish soap or shampoo or it would be soooo awsome if i were to win this!

I don’t run the dryer when the a/c is on. Why add heat and humidity to the house when I am paying $$ to pump it out with the a/c? So I wait until a nice day to do laundry.
jean
i use the BOUNCE dryer bar………

The kids have a mesh bag in their laundry basket for socks so they don’t have the opportunity to get eaten by the washing machine.

How do you save time or money on this never-ending chore?
My husband folds the laundry…
lol
I also wash things like sweaters and delicates in laundry bags to extend their life and keep them looking new.

My best thing I do to save time with hassle of laundry is to sort and pretreat stains first before they set in. I also am using the new bouce bar for the dryer it attaches inside and no hassle with remember to put dryer sheets in and your clothes aren’t suppose to have static cling. It states the bar should last 2 months. The neat thins I did is buy a label machine and put a label on the wall with the date I will need to change out the bar and will be able to see if it last 2 months. I love it so far.

I wait until almost everything is dirty, so I don’t have to do it as often.

To save money I stopped using fabric softener and dryer sheets. I now use dryer balls.

I use a dryer alarm to make sure clothes come out of the dryer right away!

I work construction in the power generation field so I am off work from May-Sept every summer. I do all the laundry in our house, so I only wash on non-rainy days and hang everything outside on the line to dry. So 5 months every year we do not use the dryer at all and nothing smells better then bedding after being on the line all day.

I think laundry is my worst nemesis. I am getting a little better at doing the laundry, though, if I do it the same time as I watch my favorite show. Then it gives me a time that I HAVE to get it done.

We have a system that works really well here.
My oldest children do their own laundry. My son washes on Mondays and my daughter washes on Wednesday.
I do my younger childrens clothing on Tuesday and Thursday. And I wash my husband and my clothing on Saturday so that all of his work clothes are clean on Monday.
It seems to work really well for us.
Thank you so much for the chance to win.

To make laundry a bit easier, I purchased a blue (cold water) and a white (hot water) hamper. On the under side of the lid I listed what items qualify for that particular hamper. For example, on the under side of the white hamper lid, I wrote with marker: Socks, Towels, …,…. So my husband and kids get a reminder every time they open the hamper, as to which clothes go where!

I wait till every hamper is overflowing then wash and fold all day… gotta put the next load in now!

I have two hampers, one for white and one for colors. I do laundry every day so I can keep up with it, otherwise it is an all day event. I also use the timer on the dryer so I can get the clothes out before they wrinkle. That way I don’t have to press them.

I really used to hate laundry- seriously getting it done was a pian. I had the old fashioned washers that used alot of water and dryer took a day to do a load.
what changed we got a new washer and dryer the he, and it has been a blessing, less water time and if you cannot afford both try the washer first and it spins it so dry you fin you don;t need the dryer alot.
