I buy clothes a little bit bigger than his current size and always on sale or clearance. They last a little longer that way.

To make my budget last, I tend to save everything that is still in good repair. Especially the unisex clothes. Then I go through it to see what can be reused or repurposed.

I have 2 boys a couple of years apart, so I tend to save everything from the older child for the younger but throw in a couple of new pieces so he has a bit of his own style. Of course my older son loves new clothes!

How do I save money on school clothing? My mom and I first search the local thrifts for basics. You would be amazed at the brand new socks and t-shirts you can get for just change. Many kids don’t get to wear them before they have grown out of them. I also look at the local consignment store for some of the harder to find items like jackets and pants. Lastly, I search the clearance racks of places like T.J. Maxx and Marshalls.

My girls long sleeve shirts I cut off and make short sleeve when summer begins. I also shop summer and winter clearance sales for the following years I always just figure a size up then what she is wearing now. Hitting local gaurage sales also helps.

I save money on my kid’s BTS wardrobes by recycling clothes. My older son passes things on to the younger one. I also love retail therapy, so thrift stores or garage sales are a wonderful way to save.

I go to the clearance sections of the store to shop for kids clothes. Stocking up on end of season clearance item and stock piling for next year helps save lots of money.

    Here’s my entry!
This will be my daughters second year of school. What I have been doing so far is buying a size bigger so that she can wear it a bit this year as well.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
